Installation Information

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work Mine worked for three months, then began leaking water and making a loud humming noise. I called Delta for a replacement and the replacement does the same thing. Sounds like a fan running but it is the rubber piece vibrating and no adjustment will stop it. Plumber said he has not seen this before. Does not stop water from draining. Now I have to switch out to the lever assembly and pay for the part and labor to replace in order to match the finish! :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from pretty, but doesn't work love the finish but honestly the stopper doesn't work at all. can't get the tub to hold water. guess my daughter will be in the infant tub until she's old enough to shower...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not hold up I bought this in champagne bronze and the finish has already started to come off. No harsh chemicals were used.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Drain Waste Plug Too Large For Existing Plumbing I am remodeling my master bath & have replaced ALL shower, vanity & tub fixtures with Delta units from the Linden collection in Champange Bronze (very good quality & modern finish). The last items I ordered were the bath tub drain/stopper assembly, RP31558-CZ (Champagne Bronze). The indications/information on the Delta web site showed it would fit a 1 1/2" waste pipe assembly (no dimensional spec sheet was available). After receiving the RP31558-CZ assembly, I find that instead of being 1 1/2" diameter (measuring across the threaded portion that screws into the pipe/fitting assembly under the tub), it measures 1 3/4" diameter. Given the fact that the option to replace the drain pipe/fitting assembly to match the RP31558-CZ under the tub would be near impossible without removing the entire tub, I was in a real "pickle". I finally called Delta Customer Support and after a long research period, the agent found 2 individual parts (RP16686-Toe-Operated Stopper & RP16687-Toe-Operated Waste Plug) in 1 1/2" diameter, but they were not available in Champagne Bronze. It is manufactured in Brilliance Brushed Bronze. The good ending is that Delta is providing these new parts free of charge. I am hoping that it is close enough in color/shade to Champagne Bronze that it will not be noticeable in the bottom of the tub. I suggest: 1) Other customers be VERY careful when ordering these drain assemblies as a replacement in an existing tub. 2) I hope Delta will provide more detailed/accurate spec sheets on these types of parts. 3) I suggest Delta manufacture the RP16686/16687 in Champagne Bronze.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product has not help up. Drain assembly came apart shortly after installation. Tried to use the screw plug, but did not work. I am unhappy with this product. The plug unit did not work properly, and came unscrewed. Cannot seem to get this to work properly.

Can you revise your specification DSP-B-RP293_Rev_B.pdf (& other related Spec Sheets) to show the exact diameter of the threaded area of the bath tub drain/stopper RP31558? Apparently, there was an "old" standard size & now a "new" standard size.

Asked by: dontx1945
Hi, Dontx1945! Thank you for your question. We will work to update the technical specifications. In the mean time, here are the measurements for the drain flange: Outer Diameter: 2.83" Inner Diameter: 1.60" Depth: 1.37" Shank Threads: At least 1" long with .3125-18 UNC-2B threading. Home depot advertises the size as 1 1/4", some reviewers had problems because they say its actually 1 3/4", but your website gave feed back to a question that stated the size to be 1 1/2". Just want to verify what the actual size is before ordering.

I am purchasing Delta shower + faucets in Stryke, and would like to purchase a Delta bathtub in 60 inch alcove size, in white, that will allow me to have MATCHING drain in Champagne Bronze. Can Delta provide a list of its bathtub models that would fit?

Asked by: Meli
Thank you for your question, Meli! Our drain flanges are a standard size that should fit most bath waste assemblies as well as all of our tubs. Please be sure to check with the Technical Specifications Sheet for the tub as well as the Maintenance and Installation Manual for the Bath Waste Assembly to be sure they are compatible. I am looking to replace my tub drain stopper because every time I get Oil Rubbed Bronze finish, the finish ends up with corrosion and pitting almost right away from my water and we have soft water. I was wondering if Delta has a product that won't do that

Asked by: kkhamil
Hi, kkhamil! Thank you for your question. Although our finishes are extremely durable, they may be damaged by harsh abrasives or polish. To clean, we recommend simply wiping with a gentle damp cloth and then blotting dry with a soft towel. If water deposits are especially troublesome, you may use a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water to remove them. White vinegar is strong enough to dissolve mineral deposits, yet mild enough not to damage our finishes. Note: Please be aware white vinegar may stain some porous materials like untreated stone. If you have an unsealed tile or counter top, please take care when cleaning your products. If you’d prefer using a chemical cleaning product, our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All-Purpose Cleaner, Fantastic® All-Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturer’ instructions. Any cleaners not listed above may be tried if they do not contain hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids or similar caustic agents. Some examples of chemical cleaners to avoid are: green Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, and Soft Scrub and Tile Cleaner. Note: Any products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust will most likely harm the finished products. Most drain cleaners may be used when following their specific directions and not allowing exposure to the finish longer than 30 minutes. If you would like to further discuss the care of your unit, you may contact our residential warranty line directly at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 4). We are available Monday through Friday 8a.m. to 8p.m. and Saturdays from 9a.m to 6p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Best Regards, Rosanna

Are drains in jacuzzi tubs larger than in standard tubs?

In one bath we have a standard tub/shower and in the master bath we have a jacuzzi tub. The drain seat looks larger in the jacuzzi tub. Does Delta have polished brass drains to fit both? If so, please provide model numbers for each. We are planning to replace both because the brass finish is wearing off. These drains have likely been installed for about 25 years.
Asked by: Milt
Hi Milt, Thank you for your question. We do offer a waste and overflow that will work for your bathtub. We do not stock a unit that fits the deeper jacuzzi tubs. The drain assembly part # is RP391PB for the trip lever style that will fit your normal bathtub. Thanks, Dave
