Installation Information

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible -- get something else I just purchased this item. I called the dealer right away because it seemed they sent the wrong item. I specified a soap dispenser that could have soap added from the top and this item did not appear to allow that and my plumber who was installing the faucet agreed. The dealer checked with Delta, and they assured her that it was accessible from the top. So, I tried it and the upper section did indeed separate with not much effort. So I installed it -- very easy to do if you have someone to hold the top. But when I tried to add liquid soap (Dawn) it was very frustrating as it would quickly overflow and make a mess. So, I put some soap in very slowly then quit -- I looked under the sink and it was only filled to about 1" deep. Anyway, it did dispense the soap. But when I tried the next day to put more soap in, the upper section would not come off. I put quite a lot of force on it. I removed the whole unit, and tried again to unseat the top section but it will not move. Also another negative: there is no user guide or installation instructions included. I noticed one of the reviews mentioned a funnel -- I got no funnel and the box had never been opened. I will see if there is something better or just a refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice product, poor design I purchased this with all of my delta products when I built my house. Worked great for about 1.5 years when the hose inside broke. Due to the pump design and lack of hose, it tore/ripped in half causing the soap to continuously leak.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Soap Dispenser gives more grief than soap! We've had our soap dispernser for about three years (bought all Delta and this was the match). It has been nothing but a pain since the start. Little dribbles despite pumping with reasonable effort. Now it has stopped working completely. Tried just cleaning it out with warm water but it's clear. The container is full of soap but it won't pump. I am looking to find another that looks similar but can't find one. Soap disp. and hot water tap finish are stainless and tap is brushed nickel? Suggestions please? Thank you...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The bottom separated from top part of the faucet. I brought this faucet in 2012 and the bottom part separated from the top part of the faucet just where there is the connection and very little soap is being dispensed. Can this be glued or do I have to replace?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looks Have had this dispenser for about 2.5 years and then it quit working. We have used both hand soap and dish soap in it. Can you replace the inner pump and if so, how do you disassemble it? Other than a sudden cessation of operation it worked fine and looks nice in our newly remodeled kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from needs maintenance I have had this dispenser for almost 2 years. like it was mentioned ,it does not pump as smoothly as it use to. I took the pump apart and greased the o-ring. it works like it use to now. I put some rubber hose on the pump and ran it to a gallon jug of soap. it seems to be working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soap dispenser Love this soap dispenser! Looks more traditional and not so industrial because it has a curve! You fill it in the top and the hole is a little small. Remind them to put the funnel in the box when they mail it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement parts?? We have had this pimp for a few years and has slowly stoped working. Now only getting a little soap out of it. The pump will no longer do a full stroke even after flushing a lot of water through it. This is a brushed stainless finish and can't find a replacement. Can you get just the pump??

How do you refill dispenser #RP47280?

Can this be refilled from the deck or is the only way to refill it by crawling under under the sink and taking the bottle out?
Asked by: susie
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet part # RP47280 is recommended to be filled from the top. Just pull the pump out and pour the soap inside. We do not recommend unscrewing the bottle everytime to fill it.

It is so nice that you are trying to explain how to take it off to refill it, but it is difficult to understand from text alone.  Could you post a video?  If not sure if i should pull on the whole unit, the unit above the seam, or the pump handle

Asked by: Clewis
Hi Clewis, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have a video for refilling the soap dispenser. You can either pull the full head assembly off the and refill the bottle from the top or remove the soap bottle below the sink and refill the bottle and re-install it. Best regards, Tanya

Why is there virtually no information in the document and spec tab? No height, how far the nozzle is away from the base, etc? only one dimension.

Asked by: Little Stevie Wonder
HI, Little Stevie Wonder. Thank you for your question. The Delta RP47280 soap dispenser is part of our Allora kitchen faucet. Here is a technical specification sheet that will include details about the soap dispenser: https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-989_Rev_B.pdf Best Regards, Rosanna

Still do not understand how to refill RP47280 from the top.

The only way I see to take the entire dispenser out from the top, as you suggest, is to unscrew it and by doing that the bottle that is under the deck will fall. What part on the top unscrews and what part on the top stays in place in order to keep the bottle underneath in place? susie
Asked by: susie
We do apologize that you are having trouble with this. The bottle is screwed onto the shank and the top of the soap dispenser is screwed onto the the other end. It should not fall if the two are taken apart. If you turn the soap dispenser about a quarter turn and then lift it off, you should be able to fill the bottle down through the shank.

Is an adapter available to replace the 12 oz soap bottle with a gal jug under the sink?

I was told that Delta made an adapter where a tube screwed into the dispenser instead of the 10.5 oz bottle and then lead to a gallon jug of lotion placed under the sink. Is this possible and where do I buy it.
Asked by: Barb
Amazon sells an adapter that should fit. Search for "Never -Mt Soap Dispenser Kit". Has a one way valve in the plastic tube that prevents soap from flowing back in the jug under the sink. Use your own large jug.

I can not figure out how to fill this soap dispenser. The only way I can refill this dispenser is by going under the cabinet and unscrewing the bottle. It is so difficult to unscrew this bottle. It is very tight where this is located.

Asked by: Joni Mills
Thank you for your question, Joni! This soap dispenser head can be lifted up to allow you to fill the dispenser from above the counter. Please contact us if you have questions or need any further assistance. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/51687RevC.pdf Best regards, Edward

Just ordered a replacement pump for this dispenser. I'm looking for instructions to do the replacement. Where can I find them?

Asked by: Mike
Thank you for your question. Remove the bottle (1). Separate head (2) from body assembly (3). Make sure gasket (4) is properly seated in the base of the body assembly. Insert body assembly through selected hole in sink. Secure body assembly to sink with nut and gasket (5). From under the sink screw the bottle (1) onto the body assembly shank, then attach head assembly. Note: To fill, lift the head and pump assembly out of the bottle and pour not more than 8 oz. into bottle. DO NOT remove the bottle each time as this weakens the neck. Use a funnel to help prevent spills. Pull pump and head assembly out occasionally to soak and pump warm water through pump to remove soap build-up. Note: Initially it may take up to 12 pumps to bring soap to the pump tip.

What kind of liquid soap should I use when filling the dispenser?

Asked by: sethlocal
Hi Sethlocal, Thank you for your question. Your dispenser is designed for use with most household dish soaps, hand soaps, and hand sanitizers, and lotions. Avoid using abrasive or very thick products. Foaming hand soaps can be used, but will not foam. Best regards, Jon

Pre-purchase Q's: Soap/lotion dispenser functionality

Hard to believe one dispenser will work for both soap and lotion. Any guidelines on types of lotion most suitable for this item? Can it dispense pump foam soap? Thinking about installing 2 dispensers (1 soap, 1 lotion) in case I need the hole in my granite in the future for a garbage disposal. I'm looking at the Allora line. What other soap dispense style/model will look good with the Allure dispenser so they are different but close enough to look good. Thinking a slimmer look would be best
Asked by: thegiftlady
Thank you for your question. The Allora faucet does have Delta Faucet model # RP47280 recommended to go with it. However, you can choose any soap dispenser that you would like for your lotion and soap dispenser. As long as your soap and lotion are in liquid form, the soap dispenser will function properly. The foam soaps or really thick paste-like lotion will not work in the dispensers.

In my previous question I asked how to refill dispenser RP47280 and the answer I received was to pull the pump out. To pull the pump out I unscrew the very top knob on the dispenser and then what? How do I pull out the pump? Susie
Asked by: susie
Thank you for your question. We apologize that it was not clear the first time. The whole soap dispenser should lift up and out so you can refill it from the top on the RP47280.
