Installation Information

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you enjoy crawling under your sink monthly to refill the soap bottle then buy. Purchased product thru Amazon. NO INSTRUCTIONS. Can not fill from the top. There were some other post on here that suggested that you had to forcibly pull up the whole spout but I am apparently not strong enough. Delta should recall this product. DO NOT BUY! I do have a problem call in to Delta. No response yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I like the looks of this dispenser, however, it hasn't held up. I have similiar issues with this dispenser as others . About 1pump , sometimes 2. Would not recommend. Matches faucet, but, has not held up. Not only does it not pump anymore, it squirts the soap all over , not just in the sink. Poor workmanship!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Have issues with function of this soap dispenser. No longer pumps soap. We are unable to give this product a good review. We put all Delta fixtures in our home when we built and have issues with kitchen dish soap dispenser since the beginning. Pumping action is not productive, went from minimal dispensing to now nothing. From other responses, we are not sure we want to replace with same product even though we like the looks of the item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need to change my original review My original rating for this product was very negative, an I now find myself in a position to change that review. After publishing a very negative review because the Delta soap dispenses was only about 3yrs old and stopped working, I'm pleased to say that Delta really stepped up to address this problem. Only a few days after publishing my review, Delta reached out to me and stated that they would provide me with the part to fix the issue with the soap dispenser. True to their word, the part arrived today, has been installed, and works great. It's nice to deal with a company that stands behind their products. Thank you Delta. A customer forever, Craig C

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but a little tricky to refill. We love ours. It is really solid and well made. The pump is rather firm. I usually use my palm to pump it. This thing is pretty tall too, but we like it since there's more room to put your sponge under it. You can in fact refill it from the top, but it's a little tricky. You have to pull the whole assembly straight up. Not just the little pump-rod, the whole chrome assembly. Ours takes quite a bit of force to pop it off. Twisting to the left or right didn't seem to make ours any easier. You just gotta pull upward. Then you need a pretty small funnel and you can refill soap from the top. The trick to installing this is to make sure you get the plastic mounting assembly really tight to the sink. Maybe even use silicon if you need to. You don't want this thing to work itself loose, because that could cause problems.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from dispenser quit pumping Purchased all Delta plumbing for our new home. The soap dispenser RP47280SS Stainless Delta Allora Soap Dispenser D-Soap Dispenser Assembly RP47280SS STAINLESS DELTA ALLORA SOAP/LOTION DISPENSER It has stopped pumping all but a teeny-tiny amount and squeaks with every pump. I now have to pump 5-10 times to get enough to use, whereas previously one pump was more than enough. Suggest anyone looking a the soap dispensers to make sure Delta has fixed this problem. Paid $50 for this in 2013 and it should work better/longer than it has.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed This cannot be refilled from the top. It's a real hassle to remove the soap bottle at the bottom of the sink.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another disappointed buyer! Well, if you're reading this, you are probably one of the dozens of disappointed Delta customers. We built a brand new home and finished it with ALL "upgraded" Delta faucets/fixtures throughout all of our bathrooms and kitchen. Unfortunately, even buying plumbing fixtures at this point doesn't guarantee performance for any period of time. I've always considered Delta a quality company. I'm highly disappointed.... Good luck buyers! Chris

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed in the quality of the soap dispensor. I am hoping that Delta comes up wityh a solution. We moved into our new home in 2012. The dispenser ( DELTA RP47280SS) never worked right and now it doesn't work at all. I went to a plumbing supply store to buy a new one, but when I got home the color did not match. They tell me that Delta changed their stainless color to match appliances. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I would now have to spend several hundred dollars to buy a new faucet if I want them to match. As much as I love the faucet, I am disappointed that I had my granite drilled for a soap dispenser that never worked properly and now does not work at all. I cannot accept having a mismatched faucet and dispenser.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Such a shame When we build our house two years ago we had Delta faucets (8 total) installed throughout. This is the only thing we've had an issue with when it comes to Delta, the soap dispenser. Barely a drop comes out no matter how many times I've cleaned it filled it and made sure it was all properly installed. So disappointing since it has such a great look and matches our faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor performance from the beginning. After four months this item no longer works. Hasn't worked well since the beginning. Very difficult to refill since it cannot be done above the sink deck as stated in the instructions. No longer tight to the deck. Can barely get soap to come out of it. Attractive but useless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great but performs terrible I've had the faucet and soap dispenser now for 8 years. We Installed all delta faucets and soap dispensers in the kitchen and bathrooms. I have never been able to fill the bath dispensers, the liquid soap just puddles and never actually filled a bottle. Because I use the kitchen dispenser so often I would crawl under the sink to remove the bottle and fill it. This time after filling the bottle the soap started coming up through the bottom portion of the dispenser base. After doing some troubleshooting I discovered that there is a tube that extends from the spout into the body. That little tube disconnected from the pumping portion of the assembly. Very bad design, I am looking for a replacement now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped pumping after a couple of months We remodeled our house and used Delta products in three bathrooms and the kitchen. They have all worked well except this soap dispenser. This pump stopped working after only a couple of months - when you push it down you get maybe one tiny drop of soap, or none at all. I have left it in the countertop to keep the hole covered but have not had any luck finding a replacement pump mechanism that will fit inside it - this website has no part number listed that I can find. Purchased one from Home Depot that was listed as a Delta replacement pump but it did not fit. Would not buy this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Everything about this is wrong Cannot even install. Nut assembly won't spin and seat because of poor and cheap design. Shaft spins independently. Is there a trick to getting it on and moving properly? Is there even install directions? My large delta box does not even have instructions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will the replacement be better than my original? Like others here, my soap dispenser has not worked properly since it was installed. It barely pumped a drop of soap at a time; the unit would spin around and not stay in place. It eventually broke and will no longer dispense soap at all. In looking to replace it, I was disappointed to read the reviews here indicating there are obviously design problems with the unit. Before I order the replacement, I wonder if Delta can assure me the design issues have been addressed and I can expect better performance from the replacement. Otherwise, i guess I'll just keep the original non-functioning unit as a decorative item on my countertop. By the way, I really love the faucet part of this set and would highly recommend it without the soap dispenser.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Similar issues as others We built a home with 7 baths and used Delta products everywhere. I can honestly say we have been so pleased with everything, except this soap dispenser. The design is beautiful, but similar to other reviews on this site, the pump action is just not designed well. It gets "stuck" once pumped and takes a while to expand back up. Essentially you only get 1 pump out of it, unless you pull it back up (difficult to do with wet and soapy hands). My distributor recommended I speak with Delta about this as it is a known issue and judging by the similar reviews, I understand their comments. Look forward to working with Delta on this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great not worth the cost I ordered this dispenser without reading the reviews. I thought it looked nicer than the one supplied with my Delta faucet. I was very disappointed when I opened the package. The whole unit seems very flimsy. It spins around on the counter and a clip broke the first time I tried to take it apart to fill it. Definitely not worth the $60 I paid for it!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality at the moment I hate to write bad reviews, but I purchased this dispenser along with the matching faucet and 4 other Delta lines in my newly built house. This has been the only thing I have had trouble with, so I feel bad to slam it. However, it stopped pumping well a few months after install (from a professional). Then I noticed it would spin a lot (ok by design I would expect that a bit), then the body of the dispenser started to come away from the base. I pushed it back in the best I could, now the soap comes from inside the dispenser and not the nozzle. Took it apart, it looks like the tube tore away from where it directs to the nozzle. Overall not pleased with the dispenser, but all the other Delta products in the house have been excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful but spins around & does not pump smoothly bought this with the faucet as a set. Love the faucet, it is beautiful, works great, the finish flawless and easy to clean. But the dispenser is horrible. Spins around on countertop and does not pump smoothly. But learned to live with it since I cannot leave a hole in my granite countertop. Tried reinstalling, clean the pump multiple times, but pump finally quit working. Got 8 years out of it but with irritation every time i use the dispenser. Judging from the reviews from the site, this problem has been known for a long time; I wish I had checked this site sooner.I am willing to buy a new one if the design problem has been solved. If not, please tell me what other model with exact same dimension can be a good replacement that will match the faucet which is still in great working condition.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product never worked. Interesting to see others have had same experience. We bought this soap dispenser 3 years ago to go with the kitchen faucet we purchased at the same time for our brand new kitchen. We loved the look and still do. But... My husband just fixed the faucet, which has leaked for a few months now and finally wouldn't shut off at all. The soap dispenser never worked properly, and after trying various soaps, thinning the soap with water, etc., we too resorted to pulling the top off to wipe soap off the dispenser straw before finally just washing it all out and ignoring it. When my husband was able to successfully fix the faucet today I thought I might as well buy another soap dispenser that works. I can't believe this model is still being sold. I went back to Delta only because I want to try to match the brushed stainless of my faucet, but I've been very disappointed with the quality of both products.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from spins and does not pump I have had the same issues that everyone else has posted here. The unit spins and does not seem to mount correctly. It also does not pump. Delta is sending me a new one so hopefully I will have better luck with that one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked great for about 1 year.....then... Love the design, look & finish. Worked great for about 1 year. Now it squeaks and will hardly dispense any soap. Internals must be weak or cheaply made. Hoping to return for warranty replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissapointed - brand new soap dispenser does not work (hoping customer service can save the day) . Hello Delta, I see others are having the same problem I am, although ,maybe not quite as quickly. I purchased this soap dispenser a few months ago and installed it along with a new granite countertop and new Delta faucet. But now after only two months it no longer sits flush with my countertop and does not anchor to the bottom housing piece securely (it spins around and is not pumping well, barely pumps at all). I was hoping to find installation instruction manual online to see if I could troubleshoot, but cannot find this information. At this point I am very disappointed in this product, and am hoping the customer service can help re-build my confidence in Delta. Thanks, Bill in NY

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never worked right Let me start by saying I am a huge Delta fan. Used custom Delta hardware throughout my new home (literally everything in 5 bath, laundry room and kitchen with two sinks)... the one piece that was awful from the start was this soap dispenser. Does not attach properly (spins) and does not pump soap properly/at all. I'd love to talk to a Delta specialist about replacement options as I had my Granite drilled for counter mount.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor design. I bought this along with my faucet and water dispenser (which I love!) and it broke after about 3 years. Delta was very, very good about sending me a new one, for which I am very grateful. It is being installed right now. I had asked the store to beg Delta for a simpler designed dispenser, but they sent me the same one. The plumber and I were in complete agreement about the poor design. My question is: if this one breaks, do you just send the same one again?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made I have had nothing but trouble since installing this soap dispenser 2 years ago. It has never sat flush with my granite countertop because it won't anchor to the bottom housing piece. It spins around instead of remaining facing the sink. It has never pumped easily and has now completely quit pumping. Truly disappointed in this delta product and also having issues with the faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from allora soap dispenser Piece of garbage! For the price you would expect this thing to stay in place & work for a long time. After a few months the pump would get stuck & the plunger wouldn't come up anymore. Sent for a new pump & it lasted a couple of weeks. Sure, it fills from the top! But you better not remove that dispenser too many times because it loses its grip and won't stay in pace very well. Shoddy design & engineering from Delta!

How to fill this dispenser?

Ok, you have no technical documents available, no illustrations with the previous questions, very poor instructions in the previous answers,if we didn't install the unit, which I didn't. I tried the quarter turn, nothing, I tried removing the pump top, only to find a minuscule little orifice. ( if that is the hole to refill, I am returning this product). Long story short, for someone who has not seen any technical instructions, did not install the product. Just exactly how does a person refill this? Remember you handle this every day, I don't, so please utilize layman's terms

It pulls off the base but chances are you will break a fragile tab in the process (I did). Beyond doubt, the worse design I have ever encountered for a soap dispenser.

Is the Allora bar faucet metal or plastic? (Arctic stainless) Is the matching soap dispenser metal or plastic?

Asked by: KSep
Hello KSep, Thank you for your question. The Delta Allora Bar/Prep faucet use either metal and plastic combination or a proprietary mixture of components so that the product has a high quality, while maintaining safety control with the various temperatures of water that go through the product. The RP47280AR is all non-metallic. Delta Faucet Company takes extreme pride in the quality of its products, and strives daily to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. Best regards, Tanya

It was my understanding that the soap dispenser package included a funnel to fill it. I received no funnel. There are no directions as to how to open the dispenser and how full it should be filled so to allow air into the bottle and pump to function properly. I don't want to force it open & break a mechanism.
Asked by: dave
Thank you for your question. Funnels are not included with our soap dispensers. All of the Delta Faucet soap dispenser are recommended to be filled from the top. We recommend filling it to the neck of the bottle.

I need installation instructions, just purchased one and it must have been one that was returned.

Asked by: Barbara
Hello Barbara, Thank you for your question. I have also included a link to the instructions below. The soap dispenser installation instructions are on page 9 module 5. Here are the directions for installing the RP47280AR soap/lotion dispenser. Remove the bottle (1). Separate head (2) from body assembly (3). Make sure gasket (4) is properly seated in the base of the body assembly. Insert body assembly through selected hole in sink. Secure body assembly to sink with nut and gasket (5). From under the sink screw the bottle (1) onto the body assembly shank, then attach head assembly. Note: To fill, lift the head and pump assembly out of the bottle and pour not more than 8 oz. into bottle. DO NOT remove the bottle each time as this weakens the neck. Use a funnel to help prevent spills. Pull pump and head assembly out occasionally to soak and pump warm water through pump to remove soap build-up. Note: Initially it may take up to 12 pumps to bring soap to the pump tip. Best regards, Tanya
