Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Delta Diverter Tub Spout Was concerned that this unit was plastic but it is solid and operates very effectively. Seals/diverts well with virtually no leakage and easy to install. Metal version is available if you're concerned about the construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design Much better than the sprout it replaces. My old sprout has a pull-up diverter which would not stay "up" over time resulting in water wastage when showering. This pull-down diverter works very well (snaps in place when pulled) as "down" activates the diverter, delivering flow to the above shower head. Kit comes with an adapter to mount on 1/2" copper pipe. Sprout and adapter are well made and packaged. Instructions are clear. Installation is easy, did not take more than 15 minutes for a novice.

I am looking for a traditional tub spout with pull down diverter in brushed SS or nickel. I can't seem to find it?

Asked by: George
Hello George, Thank you for your question. The tub spout you are looking for is Delta model RP17453SS. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP17453SS Best Regards, Courtney

My old spout has a brass "sleeve" andd is soldered to the 1/2" copper pipe. Will the rp5836 spout work or is it another product?

The old spout looked identical to this one. All of the other spouts I see for sale have a threaded 1/2" attachment.
Asked by: Jhowell
Hi Jhowell, Thank you for your question. This spout comes with a slip on adapter, RP33794. The threaded/sweat-on adapter is RP12307, which comes with the RP17453 tub spout. However, either tub spout will fit as the spout itself is compatible with both adapters. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP17453 Best regards, Jon

Can the pull-down diverter be removed from the spout to remove foreign material?

I had some plumbing work done at my home, and now the water flow from the spout is reduced. I believe some foreign material is causing a partial blockage at the diverter.
Asked by: John
Hi John, Thank you for your question. You can remove the spout by unscrewing it from the slip-on adapter. Debris can also get trapped within the supplies. Please see the How-To Video linked below for help flushing the supply lines. https://www.deltafaucet.com/cms/render/live/en/sites/delta/home/video-gallery/video-page.html?videoId=aHDE586LwYk Best regards, Jon

Can I use this to replace RP5834?

I do not like the design of RP5834 and would like to replace with the RP5836
Asked by: MarkH
You can use this as long as you have a 1/2" copper nipple coming out of the wall for the tub spout. If it's threaded IPS or bigger than 1/2" this would not work for you. This spout attaches with a set screw.

what is the difference between the RP5836 and RP17453

Asked by: marrerosmisfit
Hi marrerosmisfit, Thank you for your question. The RP5836 comes with a RP33794 slip on tub spout adapter and the RP17543 uses the RP12307 sweat on or thread on tub spout adapter. The spout itself is the same for both models. Thanks, Dave
