Can this be used with existing brass adaptor?

Can you confirm the Delta RP61357BN comes with the necessary parts for installation using the brass o-ring adaptor used for Copper Sweat Installation? I'm hoping I can use this to replace a Delta RP5834 (chrome) and use the existing brass o-ring adaptor. It is proving difficult to get the correct answer, as I've been told both yes and no, but in both cases I think people are only guessing.
Asked by: Brian
I have the exact same brass adaptor. It is 2" long from the wall. The RP61357 requires a 3-7/8" to 4" nipple from the finished wall. This has become very frustrating to me since it was installed using this brass adaptor. I contacted Delta Faucet and they sent out this RP61357 Tub Spout Diverter instead and it will not fit. Now I'm stuck and will have to figure out another way to fix this without having to pay exorbitant fees to a plumber.

Will this faucet work on the older Delta 600 series?

Asked by: Hubie
It doesn't fit, Tanya. The hole inside the faucet to accept the original adapter is smaller than the adapter.

Will the RP61357OB thread onto a RP12307? (1/2” CWT or 1/2” IPS)

Asked by: Amanda
Hi Amanda, Thank you for your question. The Delta RP61357OB tub spout threads directly onto a 1/2" pipe near the nose. It does not use the RP12307 adapter. Best regards, Brandis

Thank you for your inquiry, Bryan305! The Delta Diverter Tub Spout RP61357 will thread onto a 1/2" copper pipe into the nose of the spout. What size of an allen wrench should I use with this model? 1/8", 3/32? I suspect that if I buy it, it won't have an allen wrench included, so I want to be prepared.

Tub spout in Ashlyn Brilliance is awful in our brand new home. Used only 4 times and is horribly water spotted. Also shocked it is plastic! I like the rest of the Ashlyn collection. Might I have plumber switch just thto RP61357BN which is metal, correct?

Asked by: Mich
Hi Mich, Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing finish issues with your tub spout assembly. These two tub spouts have different installations. The Ashlyn tub spout, RP77091SS, can either be sweat onto a 1/2" copper pipe or threaded onto an 1/2" iron pipe. The RP61357BN threads directly onto a 1/2" pipe near the nose. Best Regards, Rosanna
