Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short-lived cartridges I have been a both a Delta installer and customer since the mid-1990's. I had trusted them and recommended them to customers time after time. In 2015, I remodeled the bathrooms in our home and replaced the original construction Moen faucets and valves with Delta products. In the master bath, I installed the Lahara 1700 series valve and trim. To date, I have been forced to replace the cartridge assembly four times. That is four times in 3-1/2 years. At an average of $56 per replacement, I have now spent more replacing the cartridges than I paid for the valve to begin with. The Moen valve that was original to the home was still operating perfectly with the original inner workings and had never been repaired or replaced. The Moen was still functioning properly after 22 years of daily use. The Delta, on the other hand, averaged just 328 days of use before the cartridge required replacement. After contacting Delta customer service the first time, I was told that it was potentially my water quality (treated city water) causing the problem. The second time, I received the same diagnosis. I gave up after the third time as the other valves in my home are working flawlessly. I would not recommend this valve and at this time have stopped recommending Delta to my customers as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pressure balanced unity, but more of a plastic feel It does its job and has a solid cartridge. It does feel more on the plastic end for me. If that isn't an issue, I recommend this as a reliable valve kit unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking and a great value These are hard to beat. Simple, good looking and reasonably priced. I have them in brushed stainless and oil rubbed bronze. Definitely not as sturdy as my Moen but much less expensive and a simpler design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great feature of independently controlling the flow and temperature! Bought for remodel, finish is brilliance stainless,, looks great and love the feature to control flow independently of the temperature control. Nice simple look. Only drawback is that it water spots after a shower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the temp and pressure control I got this Delta faucet about 1 year ago while remodeling our master bathroom. I love the ability to control the temperature, as well as, control the pressure of the water. Sometimes I don't wash my hair and need a lighter pressure so it doesn't get all wet. My only complaint is the finish looks kind of yellow. I believe I got the stainless steel or whatever this faucet's version of that is. It is more gold or yellow than all my other finishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the control freak I bought this several months ago and I'm happy with my purchase. The valve allows control of volume and temperature. Nice chrome finish. It stays shiny and just needs to be dried after showering. Would have like the temp control knob to be of metal instead of plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The lahara has great features. The lahara monitor 17 series valve has both flow and temperature controls. I have enjoyed this feature.

How do I get the water hotter

Asked by: Dave39
Hi, Dave39! Thank you for your question. There is a rotational limit stop (RLS) at the temperature control to adjust the hot water limit. To adjust the RLS, first remove the temperature cover and take a phillips head screw driver and turn the set screw counter clockwise to remove. Remove the gray knob. Behind the knob, you should see a black disk. Take the disk and take it out and place the disk to the hotter side. The hot side should be up against the iron piece that is sticking down on the volume handle. Once adjusted, reinstall all handle parts. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is the T17038-SS for SHOWER ONLY application? No Tub. Will the R1000-UNBX valve work for shower only? THANKS!

Asked by: Al
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T17038-SS is a valve only model and the R10000-UNBX will work for it. We do offer a shower only model that includes the shower head. It is Delta Faucet model # T17238-SS.

Is the 3 setting Diverter Trim Kit T11800SS the same Brilliance Stainless finish as the Lahara Monitor 17 Series Trim Kit T17038SS?

I see in an earlier question and answer that the recommended 3-setting Diverter Trim Kit to go with the Lahara Monitor 17 Series Valve Trim (T17038SS) is the (T11800SS) from the Innovations Collection. That one shows "Stainless Steel" as the finish, as opposed to the "Brilliance Stainless" finish on the Lahara Collection. Are they the exact same finish?
Asked by: Diane
Hi Diane, Thank you for your question. The T11800-SS is the matching diverter trim to the model T17038-SS valve only trim. Both trims are our (SS) brilliance stainless finish. Thanks, Dave

The Lahara Monitor 17 series valve only trim. Does that come with the cartridge and new springs and O-rings?

Asked by: Bill
Thank you for your question! Yes, the trim will include the necessary cartridge and seals for a MultiChoice R10000 valve. If you are using an pre-2006 1700 Series valve, you will need to use the original cartridge or a new RP32104 Cartridge & Seals. Best regards, Jon

How does 17094 compare with 17038?

How does 17094 compare with 17038 other than appearance? Are they comparable as far as features? The descriptions are presented differently but seem to be the same. Thank you.
Asked by: hawaii808
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 17094 and 17038 function exactly the same. The only difference is the style of the series looks different between the two models.

Additional parts needed to operate 2 shower heads

We plan to have two shower heads and want to be able to operate both together (same temperature control) as well as turn only one on at a time. What Lahara faucet trim and behind the wall parts are needed to make this happen? Please advise rough in valve and whether diverter(s) are needed. Thanks.
Asked by: mmc115
Hi mmc115, Thank you for your question. In a shower only application we would recommend using the R10000-UNBXHF rough to go with your T17038-SS trim. To operate the showerheads individually or at the same time you will need the R11000 diverter rough and the 3 setting matching Lahara trim T11800-SS. Thanks, Dave
