How do I get temperature control cover off my t17461 shower faucet? Water not hot enough

Asked by: Richard
Thank you for your question, Richard! The temperature knob cover can be removed by prying up on the cover itself. The knob underneath is held on with a phillips head screw. Instructions for setting the rotational limit stop can be found on page 7, step 4 of the maintenance and installation manual. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/X00076652_G.pdf Best regards, Edward

shower head water runs when set to spout only

Hi, A new series 17 was just installed in my shower, however, i noticed that when i have the spout on the water also comes/leaks from the shower head section also. what can i do to adjust? is there a demo video?
Asked by: kenomino
Dear Kenomino, Thank you for your question. Most likely, you are experiencing "shower-rise" where the water can't get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the showerhead. There can be one of several reasons for this: The valve could be upside down. The valve will have the word "UP" on it with an arrow. The length from the valve to the tub spout is either less than 8" or more than 18". There is more than one 90-degree angle. The elbow going to the tub spout is a drop-ear elbow. Something other than copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout, such as PVC or PEX. Sharkbite fittings have been used with the copper pipe, rather than sweat soldering. The most common reason is that there is something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Something is impeding the flow of water to the spout and causing it to back up and go out the showerhead. If this is the cause of the shower-rise, then it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber's snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Also, please be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. If none of these help, you may need to call a plumber. After the shower has been installed and the wall has been closed, there is little that can be done to remedy this situation yourself. Best regards, Tanya

volume markings, materials

Two questions: (1) It looks like the chrome version doesn't have markings for the water volume. Can you confirm? (2) Which parts are made of plastic? Does the stainless steel version have plastic parts as well?
Asked by: Harry
Hi Harry, Thank you for your questions. The escutcheon plate to the model T17461 will have the markings. The showerhead, temperature knob, and tub spout are non-metallic in both the chrome and brilliance stainless finishes. Thanks, Dave

How to add a handheld shower?

I want to use this tub/shower set together with a handheld shower in a newly constructed bathroom. What additional parts do I need to be able to switch between tub, showerhead and handheld? Are all Delta handhelds compatible with this set?
Asked by: gary
Hi Gary, Thank you for your question. You will need to add the R11000 diverter rough and the T11861 diverter trim to your model T17461 tub/shower trim and R10000 rough. You will also need a wall elbow 50560 and whatever hand shower that you select. All of the Delta hand showers will be compatible with this set up. Thanks, Dave

What is the Difference between the 14 series and 17 series?

Also, can I use the Delta Faucet 58467 Universal Showering Components, In2ition R Two-In-One Shower Arm Mount Shower Head with this set? Do I need to buy a different shower arm? Thank you!
Asked by: Simply Chic
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet 1400 series is a single funtion pressure balanced cartridge faucet. The user has control over temperature but not volume. Delta Faucet 1700 series is a dual function pressure balanced cartridge faucet. There are two handles that sit on top of each other-the knob controls temperature and the lever controls volume. Delta Faucet model 58647 can be used in palce of the showerhead on the above model. You will not need a different shower arm.
