On my t1700 scald guard the hot water adjustment doesn't get hotter than luke warm. And it's not a WH problem. Could it be debris?

Asked by: John
Hi John, Thank you for your question. If adjusting the rotational limit stop hotter does not increase the water temperature debris could be the issue. You will want to remove and clean the cartridge and flush the lines to clean out the debris. Here are the links to our how to adjust the rotational limit stop video and how to flush the lines on your tub/shower faucet. http://www.deltafaucet.com/tools-resources/research/video-gallery/video.html?v=n2_uZ7wgV1I&cat= http://www.deltafaucet.com/tools-resources/research/video-gallery/video.html?v=aHDE586LwYk&cat= Thanks, Dave

Can you give me instructions on replacing the set screw and cartridge on my T17278 Delta Leland/Orleans Shower Trim Temperature Control?

The temperature control knob keeps coming loose and I have to take the control cover off and tighten the screw. As soon as I use the temp control knob a few times it's loose again. I called Delta and was told I need a new set screw and cartridge because the plastic cartridge is probably stripped. I should receive the parts in the mail soon, but need instructions and a list of tools needed to replace the cartridge.
Asked by: LG
Hi LG, The first step to doing this repair is to turn the water off to the faucet. Remove the temperature handle by popping off the outside cover and removing the screw. Set that handle aside. You will now be able to slide off the rotational limit stop and volume handle. The next piece behind is the trim sleeve; this piece is a metal tube that is the same finish as the rest of the faucet. This piece will slide off. You will now need to unscrew the bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge inside of the valve. The bonnet nut as a large brass or chrome ring that resembles a giant wedding band. Once this piece is removed, the cartridge and small repair parts behind them will pull out. Follow the steps in reverse to put the new parts in a reassemble the faucet. Please see attached 1700 series parts diagram for your reference.

What parts are necessary to fix drip?

I believe this is the faucet model we have - it is stainless trim on the handle, has the temperature protection and the separate temperature lever with the larger volume arm (having the blue / red temperature indicators on the selector and volume arm). It is labeled "Monitor". Drips incessantly - seems a simple washer is in order but need info on replacement part / size...
Asked by: Dave
Thank you for your question. The part needed for replacement will depend on the general location of the leak. If the water is dripping out of the tub spout, the seats, springs, and quad rings will need to be replaced. If the water is dripping from the handle, check the bonnet nut to ensure tightness. If the bonnet nut is snug and unit is still leaking, the cartridge will need to be replaced. Attached is a parts diagrem for Delta Faucet model #T17T430. http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/t17t430.html?document=pd&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper
