The Delta brand is proud to have been a recipient of many industry awards throughout the years as we continue to push the envelope of innovation. These awards give us a perennial opportunity to outdo ourselves with new technologies and designs, to advance industry standards and show the world what Delta can do.
Fifty years after Masco Corporation Founder Alex Manoogian revolutionized the industry with the company's first faucet, Indiana Governor Joe Kernan designated January 30 in honor of Delta Faucet Company and issued a proclamation thanking Delta Faucet for our contributions to the Indianapolis community. The original Delta faucet was the first of its kind: a kitchen faucet with a unique washerless, single-handle ball joint design. Manoogian perfected the ball valve and triangular cam that gave Delta Faucet its name as a first-of-its-kind product and built a success story that everyone can celebrate.
On May 12, 2004, the Delta Faucet Company plant in Jackson, TN, became the fourth Tennessee industrial plant to meet all the criteria to join the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) as stewards of the natural environment by becoming a Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership (TP3) Performer. TDEC Commissioner Betsy L. Child presented Delta Faucet Company's Corporate Environmental Manager John Noble with a certificate and a green Performer flag recognizing the company's environmental dedication.
The GOOD DESIGN Awards is a prestigious, global awards program, sponsored by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The program honors products that feature quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetic and in 2004, they honored the Delta Leland® Kitchen Collection. Founded in 1950 by Edgar Kaufmann and many of the pioneering greats of American and modern design, the GOOD DESIGN program is the oldest and one of the most important design competitions worldwide.
Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post, the American Business Awards, nicknamed the "Stevies," are the first national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace. Companies are recognized for exemplifying the initiative to move away from conventional industry offerings and provide consumers with unique and innovative solutions. In 2004, the Delta brand was awarded a Stevie for our Michael Graves Kitchen Collection™.
