Small changes can have quite the impact on a space, and when the budget doesn’t allow you to make those coveted overhauls, it’s important to prioritize. We have worked hard over the years to have two homes and both are often in need of repairs and updates. The beach home was built about 13 years ago and while everything is builder grade, it’s still in need of a facelift.
There were a few components we changed right away, including the light fixtures since I'm a light fixture fanatic! The chandelier below was found at a vintage sale and was definitely an upgrade. A simple light fixture swap can make any room sparkle and shine.
Unfortunately, we had some hurricane damage shortly after moving in and prior to installing shutters, so we had to rip out the bedroom carpet and install tile floors. If I had to do it all over and start from scratch, I would choose a tile that looks like wood. It's pretty realistic and we use it in our construction business for clients.
The beach house has two full bathrooms and a powder room. We affectionately call this home "the beach place" and I'll refer to it that way from now on. I would love to change everything at this second home, but for now our plan is to:
- Replace cabinet knobs and pulls, easy enough.
- Remove the large wall mirrors in the main bathrooms that are outdated and replace with round or oval pivot mirrors.
- Replace the light fixture in the guest bath.
- Repaint the powder room and install a new faucet for the existing pedestal sink.
Faucet swaps can make a HUGE difference. I just partnered with my friends at Delta Faucet to create a little magic in "the beach place." There was nothing wrong with the existing faucet set, however, I have my vision for the bathrooms and although I would LOVE to replace everything (especially the countertops), I know small changes can yield BIG RESULTS! I love feminine lines and the Cassidy Bathroom Collection from Delta was the perfect fit. I chose Chrome which is a timeless finish and works well in beach environments.
Out with the old and in with the new! I was particularly excited about the high arc spout.
Did you know you can keep your existing faucets when you change out counters and sinks? That is what we plan to do when our budget permits us to swap out the Corian counters. Mirror removal, new pulls and knobs will be up next! Thank you to Delta Faucet for our fabulous faucets.
All opinions and the love of working with Delta is completely and honestly my own.
