Believing travel reinvigorates creative energy, Delta’s globe-trotting designers fuel their wanderlust by going to new destinations each year in search of inspiration for their designs. One of this year's trips found them in Australia, with the team perusing the country’s jewels of Melbourne and Sydney. Both famous cities let Delta Faucet experts view the world through a different lens and draw inspiration from Australia’s lush culture. The designers devoured the breathtaking landscapes and world-class architecture.
Check out pictures from their trip and their notes about each moment. As you will see, inspiration, in all forms, is magic…
“We chose to stay at the Ovolo in Woolloomooloo…a supercool hotel-apartment combo on a historic wharf.”
“The Ovolo was created in a historic wool warehouse that used to service the bay. It’s incorporated a ton of the original industrial-chic architectural details. Industrial chic continues to grow in influence and is now one of the biggest trends we’re tracking, affecting all style categories, from traditional through modern. The details extend throughout the hotel, including the rooms themselves, where you see new mod details added to the mix for a fresh feel—so cool.”
“The interior is every bit as inspiring as the exterior.”
“Talk about being iconic, cool and inspirational. It doesn’t get better than the famous Sydney Opera House. Amazing mix of materials: glass, concrete, ceramics, woods and still relevant and groundbreaking, even today.”
“Love the fact that the Sydney Opera House is covered in ceramic tile. I had no idea that’s what you’re looking at from a distance. Just look at the pattern!”
“Spent Wednesday at Blue Mountains National Park, hiking and experiencing one of Australia’s most beautiful rainforests.”
“And, of course, you can’t visit Australia without seeing a koala or two and feeding a wallaby.”
"The beaches in Australia are nothing short of stunning."
