According to WaterSense®
—a partnership program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency—each American uses an average of 100 gallons of water a day
at home. And this is at a time when 40 out of 50 states expect to experience a water shortage within the next 10 years. Fortunately, there are painless steps individuals can take that will make a positive difference. In fact, the agency believes individuals can cut their water consumption 30% by installing water-efficient fixtures and appliances. That is a simple gesture that puts water-saving efforts well within reach for many of your clients.
For our part, we make sure all new Delta®
bathroom faucet designs are built to meet or exceed WaterSense standards. One of the best-loved, conservation-minded innovations we’ve developed is Touch2O.xt® Technology
. It allows your clients to touch their faucet on, touch it off or go completely hands-free. Not only does this help save water, it keeps faucets cleaner to boot. Plus, faucets with this technology are easy for people of any age and any ability to operate. We think your clients will love it.
There are three ways to use a faucet with Touch2
Technology: (1) manually with the handle; (2) with a simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle; or (3) by placing your hands near the faucet. Its high-tech, capacitance-sensing capabilities allow the flow of water to be activated by breaking the capacitance field anywhere around the device. This is quite unlike traditional hands-free infrared sensors, which require your hands to be in a particular place and are sensitive to lighting conditions, clothing and skin color. Knowing this, it’s easy to imagine how Touch2
Technology can decrease water use during everyday activities, like brushing teeth and shaving.
Clients will also appreciate the fact that bathroom faucets with this technology help keep the faucet cleaner. After all, washing the mess off your hands shouldn’t involve making a mess of your sink and faucet, too. In fact, some soap dispensers
are also outfitted with the technology for even less mess and easier operation.
The engineers behind Touch2
Technology took the innovation a step further by incorporating the proprietary Delta TempSense®
Technology. This added feature indicates the temperature of the water via a color-changing LED, helping your clients to avoid too-hot or too-cold surprises. We think your clients will appreciate that, too.
As Americans are increasingly aware of how their actions impact water conservation for better or worse, your clients are likely to thank you for installing water-wise faucets that make smart water use a snap.
