turn on handle not sitting properly when tightened down

I am trying to install the turn on/off unit of the delta 16995. when i tighten the nut from below the counter the unit is tilted to the back. How can i correct this problem?
Asked by: Mike
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 16955-SSSD will tilt to the back if the stud is not pushed all the way to the back of the sink hole before it is tightened down. Try reinstalling the valve and making sure the valve is pushed all the way to the back of hole before tightening it down.
