Does this have a variable flow adjustment?
Does this facuet allow you to vary the flow rate (from a partially on triclke to a full on flow)?
Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Kitchen Pull-Down 19978-SSSD-DST faucet comes with a two-function only wand assembly. It has an aerated stream or spray options, with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm at 60 PSI.

THe specs call for a 2.5" clearance to the backsplash. We have only a 2" clearance. Can it fit?
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the faucet does require a 2.5" clearance, due to the movement of the handle.

I have the Delta 19978- DST and remodeling to a granite counter undercount sink.
I want to remove the escutcheon plate and just install the faucet directly to the granite. Do I need to purchase an o ring or anything to make the faucet stable if not using that plate?
Hi Tami, Thank you for your question. The model 19978-SSSD-DST would have come with a single hole and a 3 hole escutcheon. If you are no longer going to use the 3 hole escutcheon/plate you will need the single hole escutcheon RP52610SS . Here is a link to the parts diagram for your faucet.

Leland 19978-SSSD-DST to portable dishwasher?
How can I hook up my Leland 19978-SSSD-DST to a portable dishwasher?
I've taken apart the entire faucet but cannot find an adapter at my local big box home centers that will connect to the plastic end-piece (see attached photo). The aerator is flat. There does not appear to be a way to attach the dishwasher to this.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 19978-SSSD-DST or any of our pull down or pull out faucets are not recommended for portable dishwashers. The pressure put on the hoses is too great.

Material of pull-down hose?
Is the outside of the covering of the pull-down hose braided stainless steel, or nylon or something else? Is the pull-down hose part of the Life-time Warranty? If not Stainless Steel, which Delta products have the stainless steel braided hose?
Hi Numberkruncher, Thank you for your question. The RP50390 hose for the model 19978-SSSD-DST faucet is made of braided polymer over an Ultracore liner. The hose is covered as part of our warranty. We do not currently offer any faucets with stainless steel braided hoses.

Can this be mounted with the handle in front, rather than the side, or will the tabs in the escutcheon prevent this?
I believe it has to be mounted to the side. Also, cold is pulling toward you and hot is pushing away from you. If you rotate it to the front, cold would be left and hot right, which would be backward with respect to most faucets.
