Rated 2 out of 5 by from great look and spray feature/ frustrating design I have bought many Delta faucets over the years and have always been happy. This one looks great and has great spray feature, but lacks in design. The pull out feature is very hard to properly dock in the holder and is even harder to pull out. If it is pushed in all the way, it pulls the entire top of faucet off when trying to pull back out. We have begun just barely pushing it in so it can be used, but it droops and sometimes falls out in the sink. I am not sure if there is a way to lube the docking area or what, but it has been a very disappointing function overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love it! We bought this faucet for our new house. It is stylish, blends well with the kitchen island and works very well on a daily basis. We like the fact that it is a pull-out faucet and it is convenient in different situations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect height faucet great faucet! was perfect height for my window shutter to be able to open and clear the top of the faucet. Sprayer option is handy would be a 5 star but sometimes the hose kinks if twisting to far. otherwise very happy with this purchase and finished off my new kitchen nicely :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shiny style! Nice faucet! In hindsight, we should have chosen a faucet FINISH to match our satin-finish sink. It also wasn't the most ideal style for us as we have to wash dishes by hand, and our dish drainer sits in the double sink. Still getting used to the built in sprayer (a bit splashy if we have full water flow; our sink is only 7" deep). But, well constructed faucet and works really well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful design-poor engineering and construction I have had this faucet about 3 years and have had issues for the past 2 1/2+. Because of the plastic docking system, it has become extremely difficult to secure the faucet head into a secure position. If I do manage to get the head secured, it becomes near impossible to remove it. In fact, last week, I did get it to secure and upon trying to remove the head, it stuck so badly that the entire top portion separated and now will not secure back in. I am very disappointed in this faucet fore I have used Delta for years and have had very few problems in the past.

Q&A

This may sound like a silly question, but this was installed by a contractor for me, and I am wondering if he got the cold and hot backward. When the handle is vertical should the water be hot or cold?

Asked by: EZG1
Hi EZG1, Thank you for your question! The temperature should be cold in the vertical position and hot when it is forward. If the temperature is reversed, you can correct this by swapping the connection of the supply lines. Best regards, Jon

I get mixed information regarding Model#: 4197-RB-DST. Some sites say it is all brass with magnetic locking while others say the pull out nozzle is plastic. What is the correct information? I really like the look but don't want plastic. Thanks.

Asked by: thecurious1
Hi Thecurious1, Thank you for your question. The wand/sprayer assembly of the Delta Cassidy Kitchen Pull-Out 4197-RB-DST faucet is non-metallic and this faucet does not have the magnetic docking feature. Best regards, Tanya

Does a sprayer pull out/

Asked by: Patricia
Hello Patricia, Thank you for your question. Yes, the wand/sprayer assembly of the Delta Cassidy Kitchen Pull-Out 4197-RB-DST faucet does simply pull out for use. You will then slide the wand back into the spout when finished. The weight under the counter will help with the hose when returning the wand to the spout. The button on the wand will allow you to toggle back and forth between stream and spray modes. Best regards, Tanya 4197-DSTPhoto This action will open a modal dialog.4197-DST

Does the Cassidy single handle faucet have a spout that swivels??

Can you swivel the spout from side to side to access a divided sink? Which is "browner" - oil-rubbed bronze or Tuscan bronze?
Asked by: Eileen
Hi Eileen, Thank you for your question! This faucet does swivel from sink to sink. We have two rubbed bronze finishes, Venetian Bronze, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. Venetian Bronze is dark brown with bronze markings throughout the finish. Oil Rubbed Bronze has more contrast. It is very dark brown (almost black) with bronze highlights only along the edges. Hot/Cold lever seems backward

We just built our new home and had this faucet installed. I love the classy look and cross handles we chose; however the lever that controls the hot and cold seems backwards to me. When it is lying down toward me, I can see the letter "C". I would assume this means "Cold" but when I turn it on in that position the water is hot. Vice versa the other way. My husband checked the water lines and they are connected blue to cold and red to hot so that is not the issue. Is this just how the lever is designed?
Asked by: Sherry
Hi Sherry, Thank you for your question. Rotating the handle backwards toward the C will provide cold water. Rotating it forward toward the H will increase the temperature. Best regards, Jon

I am mounting this faucet on a vintage cast sink with previously a 3 hole mount faucet. The area has some discoloration I am trying to cover. I purchased a RP714545 escutcheon but it is a little short for the coverage area I need. Is there a larger one that is compatible?

We installed a Cassidy faucet it our Kitchen and love the color (Chrome) however it is very difficult to pull out the sprayer and return it??? Can you give me some things to check, I really don't want to return it, I just want it to function correctly.

Asked by: Mark6466
Dear DELTA FAUCET, I don’t think that’s what MARK6466 was referring to. The problem is not with the hose or anything holding it back. It’s with the spray itself, and how hard it is to remove it and then put it back in its place. I’m having the same trouble myself since 2016, when I bought my faucet. It’s really hard to remove the sprayer by pulling directly out from the spout. It’s very tight, which also makes it almost impossible to push it all the way in to fit correctly. The spray’s rubbered end circumference makes a vacuum, and the only way to place it all the way in is to wet it all around, that way the friction on the rubbered end is annulled. To remove is also a hustle, again because of the vacuum. You put so much strength into trying to pull the spray out that the hole faucet shakes and I’m afraid it will eventually break. There should be a button to release the spray or something mora functional. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Am I doing something wrong?

When Setting up the soap dispenser can longer tubing be used and put directly into a bottle of soap on the cabinet floor?

Instead of using the small plastic bottle that came with the soap dispenser, can you add a longer piece of tubing and extend it into a larger soap container that you can set on your cabinet floor? It would be much easier to get to when it needs replace.
Asked by: Victoria
Dear Victoria, Thank you for your question. Delta does not make any longer pumps for our soap dispensers. Also, unfortunately we do not recommend adding extensions to the plastic pump as we can not guarantee it would adapt or work. Best regards, Tanya

I am considering purchasing this faucet, but have concern with how easy it is to pull out and replace the wand.

I tried it at a friend's home, and it was very difficult to pull out. Could this be an installation issue? Is there somewhere near Gainesville GA that has the faucet in their showroom to try it?
Asked by: Gainesville Homeowner

I want to purchase Cassidy faucet # 4197-DST for a vintage kitchen with shallow depth counters. Why do I need 2 1/2" distance from the backsplash?

I would have just 1 3/4" to backsplash, and there is also a windowsill nearby, which makes the upper space for faucet even tighter. I really want this faucet.... It doesn't look like it would need that much, but I don't want to do an order I can't return. Please tell me why. Also wondering why the sprayer is is plastic not metal? Seems odd. Thank you for your help.
Asked by: Crazy Jane
Dear Crazy Jane, Thank you for your question. The Delta Cassidy Kitchen Pull-Out 4197-DST has a recommended backsplash clearance of 2 1/2" because of the spout (with the decorative finial on the back) swivel of 120 degrees. The wand assembly is made of non metallic for safety purposes. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-4197-DST%20Rev%20C.pdf Best regards, Tanya

can the handle be switched from the right to the left?

Asked by: Roger
Hi, Roger! Thank you for your question. We recommend installing this Delta 4197-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You could compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button on the handle will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Re Cassidy kitchen faucet, I have a replacement retainer part that Delta supplied.   How do u replace this part?

Asked by: Karen
Thank you for your question, Karen! The RP73942 retainer can be reached by first turning the water supplies to the faucet completely off, next remove the wand from the pull-out hose. You will then need to lift the top portion of the spout up and off, while pulling the hose through. The retainer will pull straight out of the lower portion of the spout and off of the hose. Now you can install the new retainer, threading the hose through it, until it sits inside the spout base as well as the upper spout segment. You can not screw the wand back on and turn on the shut-off supplies. Please let us know if you have any questions or need assistance. https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/73952-PD%20Rev%20D.pdf Best regards, Edward
