Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Great I brought this a month ago and the plumber told me it wasn't necessary to have installed. I ended up returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Quality Product is worth it. Nice sink compared to the Big Box Store items

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its an Air Gap Not much to review over an airgap. The finish matched my Brizo articulating faucet in the SS finish perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Matched Delta faucet perfectly Big Box store didn't have what I needed. Went on line and found it immediately. Ordered it and had it in a few days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the trick! It is just an air gap... LOL But, the fit and finish are great and it looks nice on our new granite counter tops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive I purchased this to match the new Delta faucet I purchased to have installed after having the kitchen sink repaired and reglazed. The quality is excellent and I like the new streamline style. It looks very nice. It was also reasonably priced.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The metal part is great. The problem was with the female threads on the plastic wye. It was to loose of a fit on the male. My fix was to use the old nut. End of problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works, but is too flimsy Purchased this air gap kit to bring my dishwasher installation up to code. While it serves the purpose, its construction is so flimsy that any side load from attached hoses makes it nearly impossible to install straight. I had to modify the larger drain line to include hard tubing so as to reduce hose force on this item to be able to install it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Looking This does the job it's suppose to do and does not distract from the beauty of our granite countertop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what we needed Bought a new kitchen faucet locally to replace old one...but the air gap on the old one was chrome and no bronze air gaps were available. Now it is perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is junk The stainless cover looks good. The PVC vent underneath is another issue. The PVC nut that holds the vent in place is not strong enough plastic, or the threads are not cut deep enough. The nut just stripped out with a minimal amount of force applied. I tightened it by hand, and just the weight of the dishwasher drain hose (small side-ways pull) was enough to push the nut down stripping the threads. I could not use any of the PVC parts. Don't waist your money on this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Delta 72020SS - High price for thin plastic This product has a great SS cap that matched my Delta 172SSWF faucet perfectly. However, the plastic under the SS cap is extremely flimsy and bends out of shape easily during install. I ended up using the plastic body of my old Delta air gap (*much* thicker plastic) since it matched identically this one (except for the thickness of plastic) and the SS cap from this one. For the price, Delta should have used a much thicker plastic.

What does an air gap do and when is it needed?

Asked by: xhotcapp
Hi xhotcapp, Thank you for your question. The model 72020 Air Gap is installed to prevent backflow or back siphonage of non potable water into potable water systems. It is most often installed for use with dishwashers. The air gap prevents the dirty water leaving the dishwasher from getting back into the dishwasher. You may need to check your local building codes to see if one is required in your area. Thanks, Dave

What exactly is the kitchen air gap, what is it used for and how and where is it installed. Is it something that helps with the water pressure?

Asked by: Doowop47
Hello Doowop47, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Kitchen Air Gap and I am happy to help you today. An air gap is installed to prevent backflow or backsiphonage of non potable water into potable water systems. It is most often installed for use with dishwashers. The air gap prevents the dirty water leaving the dishwasher from getting back into the dishwasher and are typically installed on the counter nearest to the dishwasher. To install the air gap, you will need to connect the larger leg below the counter to a garbage disposal or sink trap and the smaller leg to the hose from the dishwasher. Only the cover and a few inches of the body will be visible from above the counter as the collar gasket and nut will hold the air gap in place. Please do not hesitate to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-345-3358 if we can assist you with anything going forward. Thank you, Brandy

Why is the bottom ring around the air gap WHITE?

I have customers complain that the rim around where the cap fits down over the air gap is WHITE and stands out! It looks tacky.
Asked by: Kari
Thank you for your concern. Delta Faucet model # 72020-RB has a ring around the bottom to keep the finish from coming in contact with water. Our R & D department has been looking at a better design for the Venetian Bronze finish but at this point, it is the only way this product is available.

What does this do?

Asked by: Gordon
Thank you for your question, Gordon! An air gap is used to prevent backflow or back siphonage of non potable water into potable water systems. It is typically installed for use with dishwashers but is sometimes used with reverse osmosis filtration systems if required by state or local codes. Best regards, Edward
