Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful faucet, great idea, flawed product. I loved this faucet when we first got it. It was exactly what I was looking for in the kitchen, no more germ covered hands on the faucet and it was working great for the first two months. Then it started shutting off randomly. We replaced the batteries as needed and even with brand new batteries we are still having the issues. Turn the faucet on and it shuts right off. In the middle of washing a dish and the hot water shuts off. Washing your hands and the water turns off. VERY frustrating. Getting ready to disconnect the touch feature and just use it as a normal faucet...a very pricey normal faucet!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this faucet! We love this faucet! Didnt take long to get used to the convenience of the "touch" feature. Never have to turn the water on with messy hands, just touch faucet with your wrist or back of you hand. However, after being in our new house for less than a year, the touch feature stopped working out of nowhere;the solinoid had to be replaced. I spoke with Delta customer service and was sent the replacement part within a few days. Very easy fix, but and worried how long this one will last.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flaky features I really wanted to love this faucet, but it's had a lot of trouble. It looks great and the water pressure and touch-function is fine. It does seem to burn through batteries quickly, but I can live with that. I had it professionally installed, but after a few months the LED stopped working when the water was cold. Then a few weeks later it stopped when it was hot. I talked to Delta and we tried to troubleshoot it, but ultimately Delta replaced the solenoid. That unfortunately meant completely uninstalling the faucet, which I paid a plumber to do...again. A few months later the LED stopped working for cold water again. I decided to ignore it since it still warns when it's hot. But now the faucet takes forever to change temperature. I'll push the lever from cold to hot, and then need to pull it back and press it to hot a few times to get the temperature to change.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One serious flaw This faucet was part of a total kitchen remodel. Almost immediately the water flow rate fell off to a near trickle. Cleaning the head restored the flow rate but it again quickly slowed to a trickle. Now we have to remove it and clean it twice a week or more. I know it's the head because we can remove it and get great flow from just the hose. Very disappointed Delta. I can get a Moan that won't clog up for a fraction of the price. And YES! The house has a whole house filtration system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my new faucet with longer reach I was looking for a faucet a little longer to save my back from leaning forward at my farm house sink. I love that it is touch activated but it is a little sensitive and sometimes it turns off by mistake. The only thing I would change is water pressure is much softer than my old one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked really nice for 60 Days Took a chance and bought this very expensive faucet about 90 days ago even though I read some of the customer reviews where people were complaining about the faucet turning on and off randomly when it was turned off. Initially I didn't have any issues but this particular problem started after about 60 days and I thought maybe I needed to change the batteries in the cabinet below but that didn't help one bit. I regret getting this because I feel it will turn on in the middle of the night or when I'm not home. So far I've gotten no answers from Delta but would appreciate some help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t work The faucet frequently turns off mid use without touching it and it burns through batteries. When the battery dies the faucet is not able to be used at all, not just the touch feature.

Will the faucet still work if the owner goes out?? We have ours hard-wired and don’t use the battery pack.

Asked by: Spud
Hello Jill, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Touch2O Kitchen 9178T-SP-DST faucet is designed to only activate when touched. We recommend to turn the handle to the off position if leaving on vacation or for an extended period of time, but you can leave it on/open for day-to-day use. Best regards, Tanya

We recently installed this faucet in a condominium. When the neighbors use their cold faucets, hot water crosses through our clients 9178T-SP-DST and hot water comes out the neighbors faucets.

Asked by: Bellevue Plumbing
Thank you for your question, Bellevue Plumbing! That is correct and this issue, also known as cross flow, will happen if the RP53468 Check Valves are not installed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and please feel free to contact us directly if you need further assistance. https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/DPD-K-9178T-DST%20Rev%20D.pdf Best regards, Edward

I have 15 1/4" from my counter to a a shelf above my sink. Is there a pipe attached to the faucet making it impossible to fit the faucet in the counter opening?

Asked by: Cove
Hi, Cove! Thank you for your question. The 9178T-SP-DST faucet does have a spout shank and PEX lines that do have to be installed above the sink so the lines and spout shank can fit through the hole of the sink. Here are the manual instructions for this unit: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/92834%20Rev%20E.pdf Best Regards, Rosanna

Will the faucet work if the power goes out?? Ours is hardwired and we don’t use the battery pack.

Asked by: Spud
Thank you for your question, Jill. We recommend connecting the battery pack as a backup. The faucet will not work by touch if the the power goes out and the batteries are not installed. You may use the battery box to turn the faucet on and the remove it to put it into manual mode. If you are unable to activate it by touch, you may also bypass the solenoid assembly completely by connecting the pull-out hose directly to the faucet. Best regards, Jon

What is wrong with a Delta Leland kitchen faucet with a RP50587 cartridge when you pull the handle straight down and it won't shut off? I have to push it up to the right and then pull down to cut off the water. This faucet when new has not worked right.

Asked by: Donald
Hi, Donald. Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. We recommend to clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Unscrew the bonnet nut. Pull the valve cartridge out and clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly. Reinstall the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587. Here is a link to the part: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP50587 Best Regards, Rosanna

Dear Delta, We recently ordered a 9178T-SP-DST from Home Depot after looking up the P/N on the Delta website. After ordering, we realized the Home Depot site does not say anything about ShieldSpray. Has the 9178T-SP-DST always had ShieldSpray?

Asked by: Chambersohana
Hi, Chambersohana! Thank you for your question. The 9178T-SP-DST did not have ShieldSpray technology unitl Winter of 2017. Best Regards, Rosanna

For the last ~2 months, the lt @ the base flashed red when start/stopping the water (indicating a necessary battery change), but worked fine. After no use for a few days the faucet wouldn't work in touch or manual mode until new batteries. Is this normal?

Asked by: boilerbob
Hi, boilerbob! Thank you for your question. This is normal. Batteries would need to be changed when the red light is flashing and won't turn on manually for the Delta 9178T-SP-DST faucet. Best Regards, Rosanna
