Rated 1 out of 5 by from touch fails and disables faucet no water at all This was part of our remodel been used for about 3 weeks. Worked great then quit all together. No light, no touch, and disables manual faucet so we get no water in the kitchen sink. Can't cook, can't wash hands, dishes, or anything. Need a bucket to rinse the sink as it failed in the middle of cooking. Scrap that meal. Why fail in a completely disabled mode. Please fail to manual use at least. Even disconnected the wires as the troubleshooting recommends for manual usage only. That did not enable manual usage. Tried the online troubleshooting and no impact. Checked battery voltage and was fine. AC fine, not touching metal. What is with that these are insulated wires if they are so sensitive they can't touch themselves or any metal buy shielded wires and build a proper electronic system. This is not inside a computer case after all. Even computer wires can touch each other! I want this technology out of my house. It is just a faucet after all. I do not want to do electronic maintenance on hyper sensitive wires under a sink inside a cabinet on the floor. Not an appropriate working environment or an appropriate place for this kind of tech.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faucet inexplicably stops working Worked fine for a year or two. Touch feature became inconsistent. Then, the faucet would invariably become inoperable. How can I fix this? I changed the batteries but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I'm not a plummer. Didn't think I'd need to decipher instructions just to get the water running. Is there a simple fix?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch Feature Sucks! The basic faucet functions fine and is stylish. However, the spray head doesn't have enough arc and when pointed straight ahead just almost sprays out of the sink. The major complaint is the techie feature of the touch sensor. I thought when I order this item that might be a neat feature, now that I have it I wonder what was I thinking. First of all since I've installed it I find we really don't have much need for this feature. It's a good thing we don't use it often because it doesn't work well. I've tried all the fixes recommended by Delta and troubleshooters online and it works for a short time but as soon as you put the wrong item under the sink or move the sensor wires it goes haywire. Now we have to play tap, tap, tap games with the faucet to get it to come on. Take my advice don't pay the extra money for this feature it just leads to frustration. This review wants to know if I would recommend this product to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty or Poor Quality Loved the faucet until it suddenly stopped the water flow and now its down to a trickle. Called a plumber and he suggested replacing the faucet with a standard faucet or just bypass the water regulator associated with the touch system. Obviously after spending this kind of money on the faucet I am not too inclined to purchase a new one. Unfortunately my loves the design of this one so I am stuck with the touch faucet with the touch feature disconnected. Not what I expected when I purchased this during our kitchen remodel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the touch faucet and temperature sensor We have had this installed for about a year and have loved this so much. Installation is a breeze. At first, the touch was a bit hard to get used to, but after maybe a week, you pretty much can't imagine not having it. It is so nice to just tap the faucet that is over the sink so your wet hands don't leave water on the countertop where the handle is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good out of the box but unusable over time We bought in Dec 2017 and were very happy for the first few months. Unfortunately over time cheap construction renders the faucet useless. The top of the battery compartment can't handle the pressure of the internal springs and continually pops off over time (and once it happens there is no going back). The top connects the batteries to the faucet - so once it's broken, the faucet won't work. A $700 faucet rendered useless by a 30 cent plastic part...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, great quality faucet. I’ve had this faucet for a few weeks and LOVE it. The touch less feature is so wonderful when you are cooking/working and have dirty hands! I also love the bubble spray feature...perfect amount of spray without giving yourself a shower at the same time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch Feature - DRIVING ME NUTS - DOES NOT WORK I built a new home and was so excited to install this faucet - IT IS THE WORST!!!! It has never worked correctly from day one. It will run for a few minutes maybe go on and off - I thought it was my hand in front of sensor but then it shuts off as if to cool down and after 20 minutes if you are lucky you can turn it back on. I have to do whatever I am doing at kitchen sink very quickly so I don't lose the water - IT IS DRIVING ME ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. I have replaced batteries, had the builder look at it - NOTHING. Do not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks leaks leaks! I installed this faucet only a month ago and it's already leaking! It only stops leaking when you pull the lever to the off position, which defeats the purpose of the touch on/off feature.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch feature...VERY DISSAPPOINTING!! My husband and I built a new home and moved in 5 weeks ago. We purchased Delta faucets throughout our home and the touch faucet for our kitchen, because of the touch feature. However, after a couple of weeks the touch feature was hit and miss. Sometimes it will come on by bumping the counter or shutting the cabinet door and other times you can't turn it on or off, at all. Unless, you get underneath the cabinet and mess with the battery pack. My husband has replaced the batteries twice, thinking that, that was the problem. The battery change made NO difference at all. We are so dissappointed in the lack of the touch feature working correctly and the fact that we paid a lot of money for this faucet for it not to work properly. I would not recommend this product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Idea, Bad Execution We have had this faucet since we built our house about 3 Years ago. We do not like it at all. The idea of a touch faucet is great; however, this one hasn't worked properly for more than 2/3 of the time. We first noticed the touch feature starting to have issues after about a year. That's when we began changing the batteries and it would help some. Now it doesn’t matter if we change the batteries, the touch only sometimes works. Not only does the touch only sometimes work the faucet will randomly not turn on and off. You can move the handle and touch it in different places and sometime it works, but the majority of the time we have to touch it 2-3 times in different locations to turn it on. We are currently looking at new faucets, which is a shame because at the high price point of this product it should last longer than 3 years. I would not recommend this faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch feature is horrible We have had this faucet for just at 3 Years now and can not stand it. We noticed the touch feature starting to have issues after about a year and we would just change the batteries and it would help some. Now however it doesn’t matter on the when you put batteries in the touch only sometimes works. Not only does the touch only sometimes work the faucet will randomly not turn on at all. You can move the handle out, try different temps, leave the handle out and just try to touch it to turn on and it won’t. Thank goodness I have a drinking faucet next to it so if I ever need water right away lll always have it. We are looking at new faucets. I would never recommend this faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality This seemed like a great product ... at first. I bought this faucet 3/2013 for over $400. I know it has been five years and I'm sure Delta wants nothing to do with this review, but customers should beware. Avoid this product. During this time of ownership, I have had to replace the sprayer head once. BUT moreover, is the same as other reviewers ... the RUST. I have tried to dry the sprayer head to prevent further degradation of the metal and magnet. I have tried leaving the sprayer head pulled out a bit so the hose and faucet head can dry out. I have tried to use CLR to remove the rust. I guess if I was the only one using the faucet this may have helped a bit. I literally have pieces of the faucet falling into the sink and down the sink drain. I'd think that my now, Delta would have fixed this issue, but reading the other reviews, it appears not. Delta is a good company and is certainly innovative and the consumer is driving that along - just hopefully not by buying two-plus products when one should suffice ... at least for more than 5 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was Great...Quickly Turned Bad Bought this kitchen faucet new for our new kitchen. Initially worked very well, but soon after the touch feature stopped working. Delta was great and sent out new electronics (appeared to be a redesign) which I installed and the touch feature has been working well since. The issue now is similar to other reviews. The rust that appears on the extension hose and the “powder” or “brown dust” that is dropping out of the fixture. The detachable sprayer will not retract now and it looks like the magnet has degraded. Overall I was expecting much much more from what I believed to be a high end unit. We went to a plumbin supply store as opposed to a big box store so we could get a professional grade fixture. Although this unit seemed great up front, it hasn’t held up well at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Less then Four Years Later! When we build our house in October 2014 we picked out all the finishes and went with the Delta Cassidy faucet in our kitchen, about three years in the seals began to almost rot and we seen small leaks from the end of the faucet. It is almost to year four and the faucet will not stay attached and leaks brown dust from around the seals on the top I hope Delta will stand behind the product we have them through out the house and now in our new finished basement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT recommend this product This faucet is very nice to look at, however the product does not function well at all. We purchased a new home and this was the faucet that was installed by the builder. The faucet worked for a few months, then we discovered a battery was necessary to keep the faucet working. However, even though we've had to replace the battery within 1 year, now the faucet leaks, and the water flow is extremely low. Very dissatisfied with this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One out of three operates properly. The plumber installed three each and they worked as promised for less than two years. One of the three continues to be free of problems. One will not come on even thou the batteries are new and the light comes on. The third works manually, but if left on and touched to off, it will cut itself back on an hour or more later. It also cuts off while in use. We paid substantially more for the touch feature, but we are considering bypassing the feature. Really disappointed in Delta!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Just to clarify I had this faucet installed by a professional plumber. Normally this is a project I would undertake myself but since we were in the middle of a remodel and the plumber was on-site anyway I let him do the install. I can't attest to the difficulty of the installation but it looked like a straight forward task with minimal difficulty. The faucet is attractive and what we wanted, however, that is where the accolades end. We opted for the Touch 2O Technology, sure wish I'd done a little more research on this product feature before I purchased. First of all faucet will operate off batteries or an AC adapter (not supplied). Since I'm getting older and don't cherish crawling under the sink to change out batteries I purchased an AC adapter on Amazon. Spent almost $600 for a faucet and can't get a $12 AC adapter supplied with the product. The second and biggest problem with the faucet is the touch feature. The faucet turns on okay with the touch feature but when you touch it to shut off it shuts off for about 3 seconds then turns itself back on. After doing a little more research online it appears this is a common problem with these faucets and the fix is to ensure the solenoid wires are not touching each other or touching any metal parts. Really Delta this is the best you can do, you can't shield or isolate the wires to ensure this doesn't cause a problem. Now anytime you move anything under the sink you take a chance on the touch feature not working next time. Good idea, poorly implemented. Do not spend the extra money for the Touch 20 Technology.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking Seals, Seized Arm, no LED We installed two of these faucets in a brand new kitchen less than a month ago and already (before even submitting the warranty form) the temperature/flow control arm of one (after minimal use) is difficult to adjust and leaks, and the second one (slightly more use) has no operating LED light and water still trickles out when the unit is "touched" off. I'm not giving up on these faucets just yet because the concept is tremendous, but what was once my favorite feature of our kitchen is now a discouraging source of double-frustration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We are also tired of the touch technology not working. Our faucet doesn't alway turn on when touched and now we have a small trickle of water coming out of the faucet, most likely caused by the solenoid value or the strainer at the solenoid value. It isn't worth the hassle. We are replacing ours.

How do you control water pressure?

Asked by: Lightnin
Hi Lightnin, Thank you for your question. The water volume on the model 9197T-AR-DST is controlled by pulling the handle motion to the right with closer to vertical being low flow and increasing as the handle moves to the right. Thanks, Dave

Can I bypass the automatic drip shut off so that I can leave a drip going during below zero temps outside? This would prevent my pipes from freezing.

Hi Karen, Thank you for your question. If you remove the cap from the battery box while the water is running, the faucet will be in manual mode. This will prevent the 4 minute automatic shut-off. Best regards, Jon

how long do the batteries last and what type was used

Can only batteries be used or do you have a transformer that can also do the job? Also, about how long is battery life using NiMh rechargeable, lithium, alkaline if never using the touch capability (i.e., longest life) and alternatively the average life for normal use?
Asked by: gar
Thank you for your question. Our touch faucets are recommended to be used with alkaline batteries for the longest life. They will usually last 1-2 years depending on the use of the faucet. There is not a way to hardwire the faucet into a transformer.
