Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Faucet with Separate Handle Have just installed this faucet and it is working well. One curious thing is that the handle moves very little between hot and cold - almost not at all. This means you need a fine touch to select temps between all-hot and all-cold. However, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem and something we'll definitely get used to pretty quickly. Also, if the spray is selected and then you turn the water off, it will come back on as a spray. My prior faucet didn't do this, when it turned back on it was full-stream. I preferred the full-stream deal, but that's just a personal choice I expect. Appears to be heavy-duty and the finish is very nice. To be perfectly frank, we ordered this because it was pretty much the only one we could find where the handle is not part of the faucet. We have granite counter tops and have 3 holes which were used for faucet, handle and soap dispenser. That's the type of replacement we wanted so we wouldn't have a random hole we had to plug, which totally changes the nice finished look of a granite counter top. Based on my online research, this is a common complaint and concern for people replacing a faucet. I can't imagine why the heck manufacturers don't provide that option anymore. Time will tell if this is a durable item, I have no comments on that at this point. My prior Moen lasted almost 10 years and I'm hoping to get at least that much out of this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Handle needs improvement We wanted to love this faucet. Beautiful design; love the looks. We bought this faucet because we wanted a separate handle from the faucet itself. The handle on this faucet is EXTREMELY difficult to control the water temp. It is so touchy that it’s almost impossible to not get very hot or ice cold. This doesn’t bode well when trying to bath our newborn child under it. Had to bath in tub instead because I was so scared I would burn him. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and practical I bought this facet a couple months ago and love it. I really like the movable sprayer which my old facet did not have. And the finish is much nicer then the shiny chrome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workhorse We've had this faucet for over 15 years and have only had to replace the cartridge twice. We even used it again when we got new countertops. This has been a great faucet while raising a family of four kids through teens into adulthood and now grandkids. I found it online again as I'm recommending it to my sister for their replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second time buyer This is the second time I bought this faucet. The first one worked so well, that I bought the second one for the lake house, knowing the little lady would be very happy. And she is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit and finish of the product is excellent; compliments our granite counter tops; blends in perfectly with our custom made oak cabinets. The weight and hand of the product conveys confidence when you use it. You KNOW that the faucet will turn on and off correctly.

It states there needs to be 2 1/2 inch between faucet and backsplash. Does this mean from the center of the faucet to the wall? If there is not 2 1/2 inchs, is there actually problems? Thank you.

Asked by: Curious momma
Hi, Curious momma! Thank you for your question. The recommended clearance to back splash is 2 1/2". This is so there is enough room for installation above the sink as well as underneath the sink. Best Regards, Rosanna

Really 2.5" min clearance to backsplash (4" high)? Want to replace a Moen Aberdeen with your Leland 978-DST. The Moen fits fine with 2" clearance from faucet midpoint to backsplash. Why can't I use 978-DST with same 2" center to backsplash clearance?

Asked by: KevinK
Hi, KevinK! Thank you for your question. We recommend the 2.5" clearance to backsplash for the 978-DST so that everything fits on the top of the sink as well as underneath the sink. Best Regards, Rosanna

what size garden hose aerator adapter should i buy?   i need to hook an aquarium garden hose to the faucet head.  13/16 does not fit.  its too small.

Asked by: tanya101
Hello tanya101! Thank you for your question. We only offer one aerator adapter, RP51505. This adapter converts 21.5X 1-6 g metric thread to 55/64”-27 standard thread. Your aerator, RP50815 has M21.5 threads, however care should be taken as we have not tested and do not recommend using this adapter with the pullout or pulldown spray wands. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP51505 Best regards, Edward

Is this faucet constructed with solid or hollow metal?

I recently purchased and returned a similar faucet from another company because it was constructed of a hollow flimsy metal. I would like to know the weight of this model along with how it is constructed. Thanks.
Asked by: Liz
Hi Liz, Thank you for your question. This faucet weights 6.2 pounds. This product has metal and non-metallic parts. The spout body is solid brass. Best regards, Jon

Using the sprayer

When using the sprayer is there any side splatter or does the spray pretty much stay confined to the nozzle direction?
Asked by: WayneP
Thank you for your question, Wayne. The water should stay within a narrow cone while in the spray setting. Please refer to the product photos to see an image of the spray pattern. The pull-down wand has TouchClean spray holes that allow you to easily wipe away any mineral buildup that can cause errant sprays. Best regards, Jon

what does the 978 AR DST means? There were several different number symbols for the Leland style. What is the difference?

what does the professional version mean. Why does it cost more.? What is the difference? Try to make an educated purchase for a new kitchen faucets. Plumber will install. I must make the purchase.
Asked by: Washington
Dear Washington. Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down kitchen model 978 (model style)- AR (Finish/color)- DST (Diamond Seal Technology). Delta Faucet Company’s DIAMOND Seal Technology is an exclusive new water delivery system that eliminates water’s contact with potential metal contaminants once water is inside the faucet. Pricing is based on several things such as model style, finish, any extra accessories that maybe offered with it, etc. Best regards, Tanya

Can I order an escutcheon to make this fit a 4 hole sink making the faucet cover 3 holes putting the handle in the 4th hole?

Asked by: Teri
Thank you for your question, Teri! Unfortunately, we do not have an escutcheon for this model. However, you have a couple of options for your installation. You can use this model with two accessories such as a soap/lotion dispenser or hole cover (RP3816, RP52397PC). https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/accessories OR If you are simply looking for a pull-down faucet in the Leland collection, you can use the model 9178-DST instead, which does include a 3 hole plate. Only one accessory would be needed for the 4th hole. https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9178-DST Best regards, Jon
