Will this solenoid work with older Gen1 and Gen2 Touch2o faucets?
We need to replace a Gen2 solenoid and need to know if these fittings will work the previous generation faucet?
Thank you for your question. This solenoid will work with faucets that came with a 1st or 2nd generation solenoid. However, this solenoid will only work with certain models. Please make sure that the current parts diagram for your faucet lists this part number.

Does faucet LED color now change with temp with this part?
I just installed this as a replacement. Works fine for on/off. Has it changed the way the LED displays color? We now see red/hot and blue/cold colors when it was blue only when on and red when batteries were low. Am now using 6 larger batteries.
What does it do when the batteries get worn down?
Thank you for your question! This solenoid assembly will show the light as red, magenta, or blue based on the temperature. When the batteries are low the light will flash red three times when you turn the faucet on or off.

Why is a power supply offered for solenoid valve if it is only meant to run off batteries?
In the Q&A section the question asked was can you purchase a power supply for the EP74852 and the response was no and it is not recommended yet there is a power input jack on solenoid valve and a 9v power supply offered by Delta in the install manual (EP73954). So what is the actual reason why the jack and power supply cannot be used?
Thank you for your question! The EP73954 power supply will work with the EP74852 solenoid. The EP73954 may not have been available at that time. Also, the power supply will not work with previous solenoid generations.

EP74852 Solenoid Assembly
I just installed the optional EP73954 9V power supply to power the Solenoid. It works great. Can you also use the battery unit that came with the Solonoid as a battery backup? In other words, can batteries still remain in the unit at the same time as the power supply without damaging the Solenoid?
Thank you for your question. Yes, the battery box, that comes with the Delta Solenoid EP74852, can stay attached to the faucet as a back up power supply while the EP73954 ( 9V power supply) is connected.
