Thank you for your question. The handle set screw should unscrew counter clockwise for you with a 3/32" or a 1/8" Allen wrench. I would suggest squirting some white vinegar into the set screw area. You can also take a 50/50 or stronger mixture of tap water and white vinegar:
Dip a rag into the solution, using tongs if necessary. Wrap the rag around the set screw area. Leave the rag in place for 15 minutes or so to remove the calcium deposits that are preventing you from loosening the set screw. Repeat if necessary up to 4 times, taking care to protect surfaces that may be damaged by vinegar. The white vinegar can stain porous stones like granite, limestone and marble.
If you are still unable to loosen the set screw, then you will probably need to drill it out with a standard drill and bit and then replace the set screw or the complete handle.
