Thank you for your question, Debbie! To install the adapter, first be sure to turn off the hot and cold water supply to the home, then turn the faucet on to relieve any pressure. Next, pop off the temperature dial cover and remove the Phillips head screw. Note the position of the Rotational Limit Stop (RLS), then remove the RLS, the handle assembly, and the sleeve. Unscrew the bonnet nut (strap wrench is recommended if it does not come off by hand), then pull out the cartridge. Remove the adapter and install the new one. The existing adapter may have a small screw holding it in place, but newer versions do not use a screw.
Best regards, Edward
