Installation Information

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No chaffing, dangling, or hanging up with this cleaver improvement to an old simple part It allows more of the hose to be used. Typical ones have fairly limited useful movement because they are clamped onto the hose. They also hang up on everything under there. Since this one not only slides on the hose but rotates around the plastic insert, it almost never hangs up. I've only had one time where I bought 2 for one faucet, but it works without chaffing the hose braiding. This is a part that probably never seemed to need improvement, that said thank you delta for this gem. I have seen others that attempt the same concept with a sliding weight that goes over the hose. Some use metal for the heft to pull it back in, but I'm concerned over the years it'll chaff. Still others use plastic, no chaffing concerns but they are light for the purpose. Also both will rotate but not as well as this one. Only improvement I could see for the design would be if it could be split to install without removing the hose and still do all this.

I just replaced the hose assembly on a 470-WE-DST and the original hose used a fixed weigh. Do I need to replace the weight with the sliding weight?

If I need to replace the weight with the sliding weight will I need to replace the O ring and clip, they were just installed today.
Asked by: Anderson
Hi Anderson, Thank you for your question. You will want to use the new sliding weight on the new hose. You will be able to reuse the o-ring and clip. Thanks, Dave

Where does it go???

I just bought this model and there was no installation or assembling instructions, I dont know where this sliding weight goes and what it does???
Asked by: Mario
Hi Mario, I am sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having with your faucet. The sliding weight will go on the hose just before it is connected to the outlet under the sink. The purpose of the weight is to help the hose retract back in to the faucet after pulled out.

Where does the sliding weight go?

It's just randomly placed on the instruction sheet with no directions as to where to put it.
Asked by: Marcia
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP49149 is used on the hose for your pull out faucet to aid in pulling it back into the spout.
