Should these parts (parts in RP54801) be included in the faucet kit # 21988LF-SS? What about hoses and connectors for them?

Asked by: Lawrence
Hi, Lawrence! Thank you for your question. The Delta 21988LF-SS Faucet does include the RP54801 Stem Unit Kit and hoses with connectors. Here is a link to the parts diagram to show all of the parts: https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/DPD-K-21987LF_A.pdf Best Regards, Rosanna

What is the difference between RP41701 and RP54801?

Both parts are said to work with the 21996LF faucet according to http://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/repairparts/21996lf.html?fromDetails=true. Thanks.
Asked by: Broadus
Hi Broadus, Thank you for your question. There is a faucet code on the back of the escutcheon plate that will tell you which RP is correct for your faucet. If the code ands with an "A" ,RP54801 is the correct part number. If the code is not followed by an "A" then RP41701 is the correct part. I have attached a link to the manual for the model 21996LF below which will show you where to find the code. Thanks, Dave http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/21996lf-ss.html?document=mi&fromDetailArea=kitchen&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper

I replaced the Stem Unit under the handle, but it still leaks from the faucet over the sink.

Is it possible the seat or spring parts needs to be replaced. If yes how do I replace the seat and/or spring?
Asked by: R Tucker
Hi R Tucker, Thank you for your question. The seats and springs most likely need to be changed as well to stop the leak. They are located in the valve body directly below the stem assembly. The spring goes in first, tapered side up, larger side down. Then the seat caps off the top of the spring creating a seal with the bottom of the stem assembly. You will have to remove the handle, bonnet nut, and stem assembly to access the seats and springs. Thanks, Dave
