Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trim kit for a 20 yr old Delta Shower Control Delighted to find this Renovation Kit for a 20 year old Delta Series 600 Shower Faucet in Stainless Steel. Shower valve in great shape, but trim was gold and needed replacement. Also, found 2 new bathroom sink faucets and a new whirlpool tub faucet in the same finish so that everything in my renovated bathroom matches.

I used this kit to renovate our shower. The lever weighs enough to shut off the water when in the central position. On the old version there was a ring on the cam to adjust the tension on the ball. Is there something similar for the lever cam?

Asked by: meholmes
OK Rossana so what should I do to prevent it turning off from the weight of the handle?

Hello. I have an old RP90 shower lever: https://www.deltafaucet.com/own/RP90 Will this renovation fit as a replacement for this model?

Asked by: Fawn
Hi, Fawn! Thank you for your question. The RP54870 Renovation kit will work with the shower unit that uses the RP90 handle assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna

Can I replace the handle that comes in the RP54870 600 series reno kit with a Trinsic RP73375 handle to match my new sink faucet?

Asked by: cranetech
Hi Cranetech, Thank you for your question. The Trinsic handle RP73375 is for a 14 Series shower or tub/shower faucet. This handle does not have the same type of connection as the handle that comes with the 600 series RP54870 Renovation Kit. They are not interchangeable. Best regards, Tanya

Alternate for the diverter plug, replacements for the housing/base and rough?

My 1970s faucet has the ball and the push button diverter. The Escutcheon Plate is in excellent shape, so I can reuse it. I think it's is comparable to the 600 series, so I plan to buy that kit. Questions: 1. Instead of getting the RP2865 push button diverter plug and then pick a tub spout that has a diverter included on it, can I just reuse the current push button diverter with my original Escutcheon Plate and the original tub spout? 2. Can I buy the part that house the 2 rubber valve seat in it? (the back of that housing there are 3 copper tubings connecting to the rough). Where can I buy it. Part number? 3. Can I still buy that rough? Part number?
Asked by: TTran
Dear TTran, Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, you can reuse your push button diverter, escutcheon plate and tub spout with the 600 Series RP54870 faucet trim. The part that houses the seats and springs is the rough-in valve assembly and unfortunately we no longer make the 600 series rough-in valves. Best regards, Tanya

What is the flow rate of the new 600 series shower kit.

I replaced the old 600 series (circa 1996) with a new 600 series shower kit. Flow volume seems to be much less than the old kit. Is that by design or did I install it wrong.? I replaced the original shower head with a h20 kenitic trinsic raincan. The shower head says 2 gpm. Can i use the old ball and stem with the new renovation handle??/
Asked by: kmp282
Dear Kmp282, Thank you for your question. The flow rate is determined by the shower head that is used. However, will provide plenty of flow to run a 2.5 GPM shower head at 60 PSI. You may have some debris trapped in the valve body or supplies that is blocking the water flow. We would recommend flushing the unit. Here are the steps for flushing: Remove the shower head. Attach a hose to the shower arm nipple. Remove the handle and internal parts and turn on the hose and allow to flush for a minute or so. Reinstall all parts and test the unit. Best regards, Tanya

Trilobal (triangular?) cam....do I have a compatible 600 series?

After viewing the exploded diagram here (https://www.plumbingsupply.com/deltabathvalves.html#delta601), I think I have a 600 series, but the main body (the part in the wall that everything screws in to) is different. As you can see in the attached pictures, my cam appears to be trilobal (triangular?) instead of the slotted one shown in the picture of this renovation kit. I suspect it's a RP61, as opposed to what I assume is a RP188 in this renovation kit. Do I actually have a 600 series, and if so, is this the correct renovation kit? If it's not a 600 series, can you please tell me what I have and which rebuild kit I need?
Asked by: Chris
Thank you for your question, Chris! You do have a 600 series faucet. The trim parts (escutcheon plate, handle, screws, cap, and sleeve) will work with your faucet, as well as the seats and springs. The RP188 cam and RP20111 ball assembly are only used with models that are converting from a knob handle to the lever. For your shower, you can purchase the triangular RP61 cam and RP70 ball assembly separately or reuse the existing ones. Best regards, Jon

I'm putting in a RP54870ss. Do they have a kit that has the tub spout, shower head, shower arm and Esc. all together?

Asked by: Big T
Thank you for your question, Big T. The tub spout, shower arm, flange, and shower head can be purchased separately. We do not have a kit for the 600 series that includes these items. Tub spouts: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering/shower-components Shower heads: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering/showerheads--handshowers The most common shower arm and flange is RP6023 and RP6025. Does this kit work with shower diverter on tub spout

I just purchased this renovation kit to update my 1981 Delta 600 series with plastic ball. It will be used in a tub/shower configuration. The shower is activated by a pull up mechanism on the tub spout. Will the shower still work in this configuration after installing this new renovation kit? Do I need to do anything special or order any more parts for shower to work?
Asked by: Butterfingers
Dear Butterfingers, Thank you for you inquiry! Yes, any of the Delta pull-up diverter tub spout assemblies can be installed with the Delta 600 series Renovation Kit RP54870. All parts need for the renovation kit install comes in the box with it. Best regards, Tanya
