Also the two knobs do not move independently; I have to hold one to move the other one. I spent way more money on this set than it's worth.

Is the loweer tub spout designed to use the "C1" method of attachment like the directions state?

I do not want to solder on an adapter as in the "C4" method. I just want to slip the spout on to the 1/2" copper pipe and tighten a set screw.

Hi Tim, Thank you for your question. The tub spout that comes with the Lahara collection can only be sweated onto 1/2" C.W.T. or threaded onto 1/2" IPS. Best Regards, Courtney

how do I get the temperature control cap off to replace interior parts

Hi Rog, Thank you for your question. The temperature knob cover can be removed by prying up on it from the tip. It should separate from the gray temperature knob, which has a Phillips head screw. Please be sure to turn off the water supplies before disassembling the faucet. Best regards, Jon

Will this work with a rough in which accepts only RP46463 cartridges?

Can I install T17438 trim in an existing 1400 series rough-in?

My plumber inspected and said this would work but on disassembly I discovered the new cartridge adaptor RP46973 did not fit the bore of the old rough-in. Is there a different PN adaptor available for installing the new cartridge RP46463 in a 1400 series rough-in? See attached photo showing differences in old and new parts.

Hi Ron, Thank you for your question! You have a older 13/1400 series tub/shower. You will not be able to switch over to a T17 series without changing the valve body. Your unit can only use a T13 or T14 series trim but you will have to use an existing RP19804 valve cartridge and not the new multi choice cartridges included in our current trims. Can I use my existing rough-in?

I am updating my bath fixtures with the Lahara Monitor 17 Series Tub and Shower Trim. The Lahara will be replacing existing Delta Monitor fixtures (I'm unsure of the trim line or part #s), and there is no change in layout or addition of extra features like a 2nd shower head or jets. Can I use the rough-in that is already installed, or do I need to purchase and install a new one?

Hi Emily, Thank you for your question! To identify the original unit, directly below the handle there should be a series number on the escutcheon plate. This trim will work with existing 1700 series valves. However, you will need to use the existing cartridge (or RP32104) rather than the one that comes with the kit. Thanks, Jon

Caulk Tub Spout

There is no waterproofing included between the back of the tub spout and wall. Should this space be filled with caulk? I'm assuming the seam should be caulked between the spout and wall.
