Terrible installation instructions
We purchased this tub/shower set for a complete renovation. Home Depot said this was the set to use. Instructions do NOT cover enough steps to complete an installation. No mention of dimensions for holes for the control unit, tub spout, or shower spout. I was told at Home Depot I would not need a wall on the drain end of tub, everything kng would line up fine. Not so! I was told there was an installation video at "deltafaucet.com/video." Not so! I was told the instructions are in layman's terms. Not so!
If I ever get this installed I sincerely hope it works better than I am now expecting!

Should I caulk around tub spout and escutcheon of control handle? Anywhere else?
Thank you for your question, Joseph! It is not required in most installations. However, you may use a thin bead of silicone around the back of the tub spout or the escutcheon plate to help ensure a water-tight seal. Please be sure to leave a weep hole at the bottom when where silicone is used.

Can the cartridge be reversed for hot water on the right?

The cartridge is designed to be installed with the hot on the left and cold on the right, however flipping the cartridge could allow for the hot on the right.

But in general, the faucet or product may contain any or all of the following: Bronze, Brass, Zinc, Stainless Steel, Copper, Aluminum, PEX-C, Silicone, Synthetic rubber - EDPM, Santoprene, Vinyl, Nylon, Plastics, and Ceramics.

We are installing 134900-A shower/tub system. In specs Max distance between volve and faucet should be18 inches. Contractor installed volve but the distance is to spout is 22 inches. Will it work? He used plastic pipes for plumbing. Is it ok?

The distance between the valve and the tub spout must be between 8" and 18" inches. We recommend using copper or iron galvanized piping for the tub drop.
Not installing between 8" and 18" inches or using copper or iron galvanized piping can result in shower rise. Shower rise is when the water can’t get out of the tub spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out of the shower head when the user only wants the tub spout to flow.

We recommend the hole size to be the size of the plasterguard, which is included with the rough valve. We also recommend for the hole size not be bigger than the escutcheon plate.

We are still water release from the shower head while we have the diverter in the down position trying to fill the tub. I did not see this troubleshooting use case in the manual, what should I look at?

Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help.
First thing I would like you to do is remove the tub spout and turn the water back on, if it stops coming from the shower head the tub spout need replaced. If this continues, here can be one of several reasons for shower rise:
The valve could be upside down.
The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule.
There is more than one 90-degree angle elbow.
Something other than ½" smooth copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout. No push fittings. No "shark-bite" fittings. No cast or drop ear elbows.
Something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe

I have bought the 134900-A and already installed. After used, I feel I don't like the one handle to control the water temperature. Can I still using the same valve (134900-A) and just change the cartridge and the outside trim (17 series trim)?

The Delta Faucet Monitor(R) 13 Series Tub And Shower Complete Rough And Trim In Chrome MODEL#: 134900-A can be upgraded but only to another 13/14 series that is compatible with the RP19804 cartridge. In order to buy correct replacement parts I need to know the model number for one piece in the 3 piece Monitor Bath set (134900-A). This set was purchased at Lowes in 2001 by the builder. The part I need to replace is the cartridge in the handle unit.

After installation from two faucet cartridges, I’m still not getting any water flow through the faucet. What could be causing us if I remove the cartridge and turn the water supply valves to the open possession. I have full water pressure and water flow.
A plumber installed this unit in our shower. She didn't leave instructions for it. Now I find the water flow coming out of the shower is not as as much as what I had before. The handle seems to lack a way to adjust the flow rate. Can it be?
