IS THE 2 1/2 CLEARANCE FROM THE BACKSPLASH TO THE OPENING OR TO THE MOUNTING PLATE?

The 2 1/2" clearance is recommended from the center of the handle to the back of the backsplash to allow the handle to fully engage.

I bought this faucet here 2 years ago and it never worked properly. Cold water was low flow.We changed the hoses, checked the water screen. Everything clean and still very little cold water.

Does this faucet have diamond seal technology?
