You will need a Delta shower with an integrated 3-function diverter for two shower features, you can use the included 2-function cartridge or continue to use the 3-function cartridge with a shared setting.

How do I control the temperature to make it hotter?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 342702-CZ-R.
The temperature is controlled by the bottom handle. The maximum temperature is set with the Rotational Limit Stop on the cartridge. See the installation instructions or a video here:

I would like to add a tub spout to this set, does the diverter included have 3 settings? Can I but a diverter with three settings, or should I but a spout with a diverter?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 342702-CZ-R.
The included diverter cartridge can be replaced with a 3-setting non-shared (RP71718) or a 6-setting diverter cartridge (RP51919) to add a third feature.
We don't recommend connecting a tub spout to a shower diverter. It will work with a non-diverter tub spout, but the flow rate will be reduced compared to a valve with a tub outlet. It may be inconvenient to have the tub spout turn on when changing the diverter. Or, the spout may drip until put in a shared position to let air into the pipe and drain the water.

Does the valve rough have shut-offs, or does the water have to be shut off at the building?

The valve included with our 342702-CZ-R is the R22000 without stops, so the water would need to be shut off at the building. However, our R22000-WS can be purchased separately.
