Do I have to trim cut the edge around tub.

Asked by: Joe g
Thank you for your question, Joe. We do not recommend to trim the edge of the tub. The finished wall will be installed over the flanges. Best regards, Jon

Can this tub be installed where an above floor rough in is required?

Asked by: wvhighland
Hello wvhighland, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic 400 - 60" x 32" Bathtub and I am happy to assist you today. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend installing this model or any of our other bathtubs where an above floor rough in is required and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Due to the way the bottom support for this model is designed, it will need to rest directly onto the subfloor. Please visit the link below to view the Maintenance and Installation Manual for this model: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/X00079981_C.pdf If you need further assistance, please feel free to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-355-2721 and we will be happy to help you where we can. Is there a list of manufacturer preferred drain assemblies or recommend drain assemblies given the size requirements?

Asked by: Mun445
Hello Mun445, Thank you for your question regarding drain assemblies to pair with the Delta Classic 400 - 60" x 32" Bathtub and I am happy to help you today. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend any one specific brand of drain assembly, although we suggest installing a schedule 40, 1 1/2" PVC Waste and Overflow Drain which can be adjusted for 16-1/2" bathtubs. I hope this is helpful and if there is anything going forward that we may be able to help with, please do not hesitate to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-355-2721 and we will be happy to help you where we can. Should you put on the adhesive and connect the apron support to the apron before putting the tub in place in the bathroom?

Yes, you should apply adhesive and connect the apron support to the apron before putting the tub in place. There is a gap between the bottom black support structure and the upper tub material at the drain area.  Is there sealant between the two materials?  If I place the drain gasket (underneath as suggested), will it leak between these two materials?

Asked by: mechanaxe
Hello mechanaxe, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic 400 - 60" x 32" Bathtub and I am happy to help you today. There should be a slight gap between the black bottom support and the white bathtub. A gasket or sealant will need to be placed between the drain assembly and the bottom of the tub. Once the assembly is screwed into place, there should be a tight seal which will prevent any water from leaking out. If there is anything going forward that we may be able to help with, please do not hesitate to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-355-2721 and we will be happy to help you where we can. Thank you, Brandy

Step 1 says: "Apply Adhesive along edge where apron support makes contact with apron. Tape in place until adhesive dries." What adhesive do you recommend? Also, do you just glue the apron to the back side of the tub, flush with the floor?

Asked by: Blair
Hello Blair, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic 400 - 60" x 32" Bathtub and I am happy to help you today. Below are three adhesives and sealants recommended and tested by our engineers:  DAP® 3.0™ Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing High Performance Sealant  Red Devil® RD3000™ Advanced Kitchen & Bath Sealant  ECO-BOND® Kitchen-Bath-Plumbing Adhesive and Sealant  If you are unable to find one of the brands listed above, we recommend trying to find an advanced kitchen and bath polymer sealant/adhesive or a sealant/adhesive which states it is safe for plastic or polystyrene. Once the apron support is glued to the inside of the apron, it will not be visible from the finished side and it will be flush with the floor. If there is anything going forward that we may be able to help with, please do not hesitate to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-355-2721 and we will be happy to help you where we can! I had a "friend" install this tub for me about 6 months ago. Now I've noticed a small crack inside the tub. I cannot tell if it is all the way through or just in the "surface" of it. Is there a way I can seal it so that crack does not get any larger?
