No institutional look here!
There is nothing exciting about grab bars, right? Wrong! These do not have that institutional look about them and that was important to us. They look so good that I used them in the "normal" grab bar places, but I also used them as towel bars in our bathrooms. Safety doesn't have to equal blah!

Delta Grab Bar
This grab bar is just what I wanted in my new walk-in shower. It's solid as a rock (make sure you use the right kind of wall anchors if you don't have a solid backer board to screw into) and doesn't look cheap or commercial. Do think about getting a 24" bar instead of 18", but either way, you'll be pleased. I like the fact that the mounting screws are concealed.

Great Grab Bar
Purchased the Delta Grab Bar mod. 41818 for a shower renovation. My wife wanted a grab bar but not the typical stainless steel tube type, as she put it “something that looks attractive”. We had previously bought a bath tub from Build.com and were extremely satisfied with the product and their customer service so we turned to them for a Grab Bar. The item met our expectations and looks great in our new shower.

Love it....BUT
The grab bar has a beautiful finish, and water spots wipe off easily! My bathroom was gutted for the remodel, so the install included additional wood backing for a secure hold. My only problem is, the caps that cover the screws will not stay on the wall (Travertine stone). I'm not sure if my contractor needed to use a glue or calking around it or not. I also have the matching 16" vertical grab bar (installed at the same time), where the caps are mounted perfectly fine. I don't see any calking around it, yet the caps are not dangling around it!! I'm thinking this is my contractor's fault and not the design! I could be wrong, so please tell me if there is a specified way to attach the caps. Beautiful Chrome

Grabbing on never felt easier...natural

Fantastic Grab Bar Design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchase (6) Delta grab bars for my handicap wife. With (2) small toilets and a roll-in shower, she needs grab bars located so she is able to assist in standing both in toilets and shower. These Delta products are well built and sturdy. The only thing I had to do was install baseball bat grips for a more firm grip. Works well and absolutely no complaints.

How can I shorten the length on this 41824 grab bar?

If you are pressed on this being trimmed you may do so as long as there are no notches at the end of the bar where the bar inserts into the mounting plate but please keep in mind if this is cut wrong it will void the warranty. Is the bar smooth or textured? Wet hands may slip if smooth and not textured.

Unfortunately, this bar is not textured, although our sister company, Liberty Hardware does carry a line of Delta branded ADA compliant grab bars which are peened.

Do you need to purchase wall support anchors for this grab bar?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 41824.
This grab bar includes mounting screws and a hollow-wall anchor for one end of the bar. It is recommended to install with at least one end stud mounted with the included wood screws.

The concealed mount faceplate on my 41824-SS grab bar keeps falling off. How can I attach it so it won't fall off?
