Rated 1 out of 5 by from LEAKS FROM BOTTOM DOOR GASKET!! Installed this unit and just like everyone else the bottom gasket leaked after the first use. We are having to put a towel down up against the bottom just to collect the water that escapes from the door bottom gasket. Very annoying as we paid good money for this and have to resort to other ways to prevent water damage along our floor, mind you the safety aspect of it so we don’t slip and crack our heads. I’ve been on the search for a new bottom gasket to try out but haven’t found anything that seems suitable for it. Wish I would’ve went with a different option from the beginning of our bathroom remodel. I’d be pleased to just get a new updated gasket that would prevent water from escaping so we don’t have to use a towel anymore such a pain!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glass door exploded I bought this shower enclosure in Dec. 2016. It was installed by a licensed contractor. Last week the door exploded for no apparent reason. It made a very loud noise and exploded into pieces all over the inside of the shower and bathroom. Before the door exploded, there was no damage to the door and was used as intended. Luckily, no one was in the bathroom at the time. I contacted Delta and was told that they cannot do anything because it is past the 5 year warranty.

Contacted Delta after install and explained the problem with the hinge side gasket and they sent a replacement-the same piece I had. Called again and after pleading for 40 minutes that something isn't right I was told that I was wrong and that's the piece that fits...it absolutely doesn't. Now I have an irate customer and am stuck trying to find replacement gaskets at my expense. Wasn't able to give less than one star and will never be using Delta on any projects again.

Delta doesn't sell replacement glass parts and the shower isn't compatible with other systems so I'm stuck having to replace the entire shower/base or reinstall this junk. Thanks Delta.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from By far the worst purchase ever made! I wish we never purchased this shower! It started leaking at the bottom of the door, no matter what we do we can’t fix it. We put this shower in for our daughter because she needed hip surgery. I really wish I would have done a little research before purchasing this, but we didn’t have much time to make the bathroom handicap accessible. I don’t know what we are going to do, she needs another surgery and this shower is a fall risk since it leaks. I wish we would have gone with a square base instead so we could use a shower curtain, it would have saved so much grief!! I really hate to waste the money and it hasn’t even been a year yet!! So disappointed and disgusted!

2) The installation manual says to only caulk the outside of the shower, but the installation video shows that you caulk the inside. Which is correct?

The instruction manual for the Delta 422061 shower unit indicates as follows: "Caulk the outside of the shower enclosure where wall jambs meet the walls, the seam between the stationary panel and wall jamb, the glass meets the base, the glass support meets the base, and the vertical section as shown. Will the Model # 422061 fit a pan with centerline dimensions of 17.5 inches by 25 inches by 17.5 inches?

What is the distance between the bottom of the door and the bottom glass support? Mine is 1/2" but the door sweep is only 3/8". This causes a lot of water to leak between the door sweep and bottom glass support.

When installing tile in this item, do you put in the wall supports (in which the glass is installed) before you begin tiling?

At your earliest convenience, please respond back to the email I sent to you with a full photo of the enclosure, displaying the unit from top to bottom as well as a few photos of the base after you have run water through the unit and we will be happy to investigate this issue with your further to reach a resolution. There are many factors to consider when a shower enclosure is leaking, such as the type of sealant and adhesive that was used during installation, if the sealant was pressed completely into the joints of the surround, base and enclosure to get a tight seal and whether or not the unit is fully plumb and level. One very common issue with a leaking enclosure is when 100% silicone based sealant is used to seal the surround, base and enclosure, as this sealant has a very high shrinkage factor over a short period of time. We recommend using an advanced polymer sealant which is safe for use on polystyrene/acrylic materials and intended for kitchens, bathrooms and surrounds, such as the three brands below: DAP® 3.0™ Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing High Performance Sealant Red Devil® RD3000™ Advanced Kitchen & Bath Sealant ECO-BOND® Kitchen-Bath-Plumbing Adhesive and Sealant If you wish to give us a call on our warranty line after sending in your photos, please give us a call at 800-355-2721. Two questions: 1) Do the glass walls insert into the wall jambs, or go around them. The wording on the installation manual says to insert them, but the picture shows that they go around the jambs.

substituting a larger stationary glass panel

Hello, We would like use the 38" Frameless Neo Angle Shower enclosure for a space that will require a wider panel for one of the sides (not the hinged side). From what I see if we were to get 1/4" tempered glass from a local glass shop with the holes drilled as they are in the panel provided in the kit then the other parts in the kit could be utilized. I understand this is not recommended use and not warrantied. Is there anything else we should do to make this work?

Hi Pat, Thank you for your question about the Delta 38" Frameless Neo Angel Shower Enclosure. This is something we would not recommend or be able to cover under warranty. The biggest concern we can see is making sure the panel is attached and sealed to the aluminum profile properly ensuring there is proper support. The aluminum profile would have to be removed from the existing panel and attached onto the other panel, which will be difficult to do. Thanks, Nick

Is there any way to restrict how far the door can be opened?

I'm looking to install this in a small bathroom and if the were to be opened the full 180 degrees it would hit the other fixtures in the room.

Can this be installed on a tiled wall AND using the Delta Neo Angle base?

Hi asianfreckles, Thank you for your question. The model 422061 can be installed on a tiled wall. The 422063 base is made to install to the drywall, you cannot install the base over tile. This is a fairly normal installation, your wall tile will run down over the nailing flange of the base, but not behind the base. Thanks, Dave

Installation of wall jams

Illustration 5 is very clear about the installation of the wall jams. Illustration 19 and 20 give instructions for connecting wall jam extenders but I don't see 'extenders' in the parts list. What are they for since it seems that the installation is complete by the time I get to 19.

Can the door open from the left?

To do this, it is stated in the install manual, but the left stationary panel would be installed on the right, and the right stationary panel would be installed on the left, then the door would be installed upside down. Getting the hinges straight and square relative to the panel

The hinges come with only half as many plastic bushings (if that is the right term) to fit inside the glass holes. It seems that this may be responsible for my hinges to be aligned a bit crooked, once the door is attached. Are there supposed to be plastic bushings for each hole? If not, are there any suggestions as to how to ensure the hinges are straight once everything is installed?

on model 422061 I would like to knoe the correct position of the sweep. Does the long edge of the sweep go to the inside or outside of the door?

Thank you for your question, Jude! You would need to trim the long edge of the sweep, to be flat on the end that touches the magnetic door gasket. Attach door sweep to bottom of glass door. Make sure that the end of the door sweep touches the magnetic gasket.
