Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Lifetime Warranty on Chrome Finish I have one of these #51500 chrome adjustable slide/ grab bar assemblies in my shower. I additionally have 3 additional matching grab bars (#41924 chrome) in the same shower. All were installed in 2020. Sadly, the chrome finish has started to corrode on the surface of the adjustable slide grab bar, but the other 3 grab bars still have the smooth chrome finish like new. Called Delta, they claim it's not a warranty issue and won't replace it. They say it was due to my shower cleaning chemicals (vinegar and Dawn). If so, why wouldn't all the bars (and all the other chrome fixtures in the shower) be similarly corroded?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product - when installed correctly DL-51500 must be installed with the correct "grab bar collar". When DL-51500 is installed vertically, use #8 in the attached instructions. If your installer uses #7 (as ours did), the handheld will slide up and down but will not tilt out from the wall. The replacement part to correct this is DL-92138. We love the strength, style, and functionality of this handheld shower mount / grab bar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from shower hear mount does not tilt You expect a hand-held shower head to tilt forward and back to change the angle of the water spray. This mount tilts side to side with the water only spraying straight out. Because the bar is rectangle, the mount will only attach one way and it is not what is show in the picture. This is a bad design.

I'm looking at the 51500 slide bar to be used with the 59584 hand shower. Can the hand shower be pulled off the slidebar during showering to use separately? Thanks

For Model 51500, is the bar square or rectangular? Can you please provide the width of the bar (eg. is it 1"square or 1" x 0.5" rectangular, etc.)? Hard to tell from picture.

Does the hose really stretch to 80"?

Please send links for all other components that are necessary for fully installing this “Delta 24 in. Adjustable Slide Bar for Handheld Showerheads”  Model #51500-BL.  This is for a new build and not a replacement.  I am ordering for my plumber.

I currently have model 51559-BL. Would I be able to swap 51500-BL to use with the same handheld shower? If so, are the holes for both models in the same place or would it require additional drilling?

the slide bar top fell off how to reassemble

Hi mingo, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet 51500. The cover plate on the top of the slide bar should stay when pressed firmly against the wall. But a small bead of silicone can also be used on the inside of the cover plate if it falls. Please reach out for further assistance or with any additional questions! 51500 universal showing, can the grab bar portion be longer, like using 36" grab bar? when we install it for the ADA height, 24" is not long enough to make it tall for the standing person.

Hi. I have the 51500 in matte black but I only have the bar with sliding mechanism. I am missing the top and bottom pieces that attach to the wall. Where can I find the part numbers?

The install instructions say the pipe nipple must stick out 1/4"-1/2" from the finished surface for slide bar #51500 w/sq elbow but maybe that's only for #51600. If I look at the install for the sq elbow #50570 it says 1/16"-3/16". Pls clarify.

To install the Delta Faucet Adjustable Slide Bar / Grab Bar Assembly With Elbow In Chrome MODEL#: 51500 apply plumber tape to threaded ends of 1/2" (13 mm) iron pipe nipple (not supplied) and thread into shower riser elbow so that nipple extends past the finished wall no more than 1/2" (13 mm) and no less than 1/4".
