Could use more GPM
Looks great. A little disappointed that the spray handle is plastic when most everything else is metal. Being in Calif. the flow is regulated. Saves water and the spray pattern helps but I would like more pressure. This might be a problem if you have long thick hair.

Horrible shower spray & no adjustment
Wall bracket & hose great but worst ever spray with no adjustment. Very wide spray, must have the curtain drawn or water will spray the floor.

Chipping, hard to clean
Having the product for less than 6 months, the matte black finish is chipping. In the areas it is not chipping, water spots are permanently stained

Great option w/only 1 minor flaw
The handheld showerhead works great. Good water flow and easy to change height & direction. My only gripe is that the distance between the vertical bar and the wall is too small. I can't tilt the showerhead so that it's pointing straight down. There are times I don't want to get my hair wet, but the most I can tilt the handle is 45 degrees. All it takes is a longer separator for the top/bottom pieces on the vertical bar.

So Close
This is a good looking hand shower, and unfortunately what I thought was the most quality-feeling piece (the hose) has started to chip after only a few weeks of single-person use. It wasn't from the install, but has now happened in two places. Perhaps this only happens on the black, but it seems like Delta should have figured that out before offering it in the black finish.

Feels both classic and modern at the same time.
When doing a large shower, a handheld is really a must for yourself or whomever is cleaning your shower. If you don’t put one in, it’s a jerk move. This looks really “cold” in the picture, but can be both modern or classic in person. We used this with the Dryden set and it looks perfect. It is sturdy and functional.

Nice design, but finish is failing already

Pairs up nicley with the Delta ara separate shower head in a 6 foot wide shower for 2 person showering - I like showing more equipment in my master showers which are never less than 5 foot in width and usually not wider than 7 feet

Solid handle shower with good flow
This came as a piece in our shower package which included a regular shower head and body sprays. The handle has a nice long hose allowing it to be used easily. The sliding bar is nice, although we don't really use that feature I can see how it would benefit someone that has a smaller shower footprint. Considering the water minerals we have it has not stained or retained water spots. Overall we are happy with this hand held shower.

Beautiful, Modern.
We paired this with the Ara Monitor 17 showerhead and used a 3 way diverter to have options to use the showerhead only, hand shower only, or both. It looks beautiful and sleek. Would definitely buy it again. It was the right choice for our modern guest bathroom.

Nice handheld shower
I bought this shower head for the look. Although there are only 4 holes on this shower head, it produces powerful wide spray. I also use it as a body spray. I am very pleased with this purchase.

what valve do i need to spec with this?
Thank you for your question, Katie. This hand shower will work with any of our shower valves. A complete shower will require an R10000 rough-in valve and 13/14, 17, or 17T series trim kit. You will also need a supply elbow such as the 50570. If you wish to divert between the hand shower and other components, you will need an R11000 rough-in and a coordinating diverter trim.

I want to get more water flow out of this hand-held head. Can I remover the small plastic valve at the inlet of the unit to increase water flow?

Thank you for your question. We do not recommend to remove or modify anything for the Delta 51567 shower unit. Doing so may result in voiding any warranty that the unit may have.

How does the bar "adjust"?
Customer wants "button" mechanism to loosen the bar so the hand held moves up and down. I don't see a button on the Ara bar, but I don't see a lever either.

Thanks for your question. There should actually be a button on either front or back of this slide mechanism. When pressed, this would allow the slide mechanism to move up and down the bar.

In our state we need to have a back flow preventer attached to the hand held to pass plumbing code. Can you tell me what the part number is for this item?

As stated in the Warranty section of the Maintenance and Installation manual, this hand shower does contain an internal backflow protection system as well as two certified check valves internally.

Is there a recommend height placement for the supply elbow? My mom is elderly and short,4’10”. She also wants to be able to use the hand held shower head to wash her small dog in the shower.

Regarding 51567 - Can the Slide Mechanism (RP64239) piece be mounted on either slide of the bar? The picture shows right-mounted but we're wondering if it can be mounted on left hand side of the slide bar,meaning is it interchangeable (left or right side)

What else is needed?
Remodeling a bathroom and would like to use this along with a T-17 Shower head in the shower. What else do I need for the install beside the head, hose and bar. Is a diverter valve necessary? what about a wall mount connection?

Thank you for your question. Besides the 17 Trim and R10000 valve, you will need a 3-Setting diverter. Once option is a shower arm diverter, such as the U4929-SS-PK. For a wall-mounted diverter you will need the R11000 valve, a 3-Setting trim, and a supply elbow. Below are the items in the Ara collection in Stainless Steel.
