Delta® Decorative Grab/Slide Bars are ADA Compliant. They can be positioned 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. The bars do not rotate within the fittings and will support up to 500 pounds of force, twice the ADA requirement of 250 pounds of force, when properly installed. A retrievable grab/slide bar wall anchor is also included for ease of removal. Delta is committed to supporting water conservation around the globe and has been recognized as WaterSense® Manufacturer Partner of the Year in 2011, 2013, and 2014. With three spray-selection buttons and a pause feature that allow you to choose up to nine spray settings with a simple, one-handed activation, the ActivTouch® hand shower delivers a new level of innovation to enhance the showering experience. The ActivTouch offers a non-slip, ergonomic grip to help prevent the hand shower from slipping out of the hand while in the shower. The 60”-82” stretchable stainless steel hose option offers maximum flexibility. The impact-resistant spray face offers durability for years to come while the internal double-check valve offers peace of mind with back-flow protection. Innovative Pause feature allows you to conserve water while lathering up.

Good, but...
I looked quite a bit before selecting this item. We wanted something that could also function as a grab bar and had the right finish. It is a sturdy, attractive item, but if you are looking for a shower head with some oomph, this isn’t it. We are using it with a rain shower head and wanted something to provide more of a pulsing capability, which this doesn’t offer. There are various options, but they are all pretty similar.

Sturdy, Stylish and Easy
I’m very happy with Delta 51900 Multi-Function Handshower package. It’s easy to use. The shower head slides up and down the slide bar easily. The finish is very nice. And it’s Activ touch works great. I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

Multi Function Handshower
I love the look and the styling of this product. I needed the multifunctions especially the pause button and it is hard to find. Purchasing the grab bar instead of the regular slider bar only made it better.

Delta 51900 1.75 GPM Multi Function Handshower Package with Slide Bat, Hose, Holder and ActivTouch
this is another great Delta product. I am a contractor and use this handshower frequently as well as many other Delta Products. I have never been disappointed with the product. It is good quality and functions as claimed. My plumber finds the product easy to install and appreciates the constant quality.

Delta Handheld Shower Grab Bar
This is a great solution for those that want a handheld shower added to their bath. We have used this particular model in many of our custom homes. This is a stylish design available in multiple finishes to compliment any bath. The advantage of this particular model is two-fold-- it acts as a grab bar, which enhances safety, and it slides up and down for ease of use. Many of our new homes are being designed for aging-in-place, so we always recommend this product to coordinate with our other Delta faucet selections.

Nice looking and sturdy shower bar
I needed an ADA grab bar and figured I might as well find one that works with the handheld shower. This fit the bill and looks attractive. The shower head is easy to move up and down, although the piece to move it take up a lot of visual space. The shower head has good flow.

Not quite enough water pressure
I just had a knee replacement and this has been great. I had it installed with a grab bar on the side of the bath and I have felt completely safe. Water pressure is less than the original showerhead and I am going to get a part that allows me to use either. I had hoped this would be a replacement but, no.

Functions, but water pressure is an issue
There's absolutely nothing technically or aesthetically wrong with this handshower package - it's just that if the water pressure isn't sufficient, the overall effect is rather underwhelming. Everything arrived timely and nothing was missing.

Rubber/plastic gasket parts in the clamp deteriorate, and there are no replacement parts.
As these rubber/plastic gaskets come apart, the shower head becomes impossible to move without taking it apart and removing part of the gasket. Eventually the shower head has to be use at only one height. And there are no replacement parts available.

Works like a charm. Heavy duty, well made, multiple shower spray functions are a plus. Nice design does not look like a handicap bar.

Great Delta Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We remodeled our bath 15 months ago and installed this Delta hand shower package. It was selected due to the Delta reputation and warranty, and has been great so far. We liked the fact that there was more metal vs plastic composition. The variety of spray options is nice to have, and the hose does not kink. It stretches over to reach the seat we had built into the tile shower surround. I was able to find some Delta grab bars that matched the slide bar, and the shower looks more designer rather than like an ADA shower. The best of both, since my spouse is disabled and safety is paramount.

Shower Wand does NOT pivot down
I hate this produce. I went to a highly reputable plumbing store, Brothers Plumbing, in Sacramento, CA
I saw the product on the wall as a display. I worked with the owner of Brothers Plumbing to select and purchase the faucet
The mechanism that holds the shower want on the grab bar will go up and down, or left and right ONLY !!!
My contractor mounted the grab bar too high. The water goes over my head onto the back of the small shower stall (no bath tub). So now I have to sit and hold the shower wand to get water on my body. :-((((
I never in my wildest dreams imagined a quality shower faucet from Delta would not allow the shower wand to pivot down, nor that Delta would not have another mount that would work with the faucet that I paid $267 for.
I'm going to order 59210 and hope I can swap out my 51900 for the 59210 without changing tiles.

Hand shower with slide bar

The operation of the shower is very good with the different settings that can be used. This is a replacement for an older Delta hand shower and slide bar with good directions for installations. Will highly recommend this product.

Not terrible, doesn't pivot
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a nice unit but if you want to hang the hand shower and adjust the up and down angle, you cannot. It slides up and down the bar but the connector that holds the hand shower does not pivot. I wish I knew this before drilling holes in my tile.

I bought two complete shower packages including all rough in valves. Thank you Build.com for compiling and offering these packages for those of us with no plumbing experience. I only had to make basic style and function choices and you provided a "done deal" for two showers. I think my architect/builder was surprised and relieved when I showed him what I picked out.
I have been very pleased with every piece...except this hand held shower head. It is lightweight which to me means a lot of plastic. My architect doesn't agree with me. He says it's just the way these things are built now.

I just installed this today and the pause button does not work. It slows the water, but a lot of water still flows through. Is there somthing that may be installed wrong?

Thank you for your question. The Delta 51900-RB Slide Bar Hand Shower pause button is not a complete and positive shut off. There will be a trickle of water from the hand shower still, when the pause setting is activated. How do you turn it on and off and adjust the temperature? Do you need a separate component?
Thank you for your question, Sarah! To use this hand shower and slide bar, you will need to also install a universal rough in valve like the R10000-UNBX along with a diverting valve like the R11000. You could alternatively install a universal valve along with a 3-way shower arm diverter instead.

What additional parts, valves, handles, trim, fittings are needed to use this in new construction?

I'm considering the 51900-RB but I'm concerned about the mounting piece that holds the shower head and it's inability to slide after a couple years of use. Is it possible to order the same hand held shower and ADA grab bar with U6300?
