Delta® Temp2O® Technology uses a digital display to show the temperature of the water flowing from your shower or tub spout accompanied by a color indicator to make it easy to tell at a glance when the water is right for you and safe for your family. The LED display will be blue when the temperature of the water is below 80°F (26.7°C), shows deepening shades of magenta as the temperature rises from 80°F (26.7°C) to approximately 110°F (43.3°C) and will turn red when the temperature is higher than 110°F (43.3°C), helping you avoid hot or cold surprises. While other products may gather unsightly mineral build-up over time, Delta soft rubber Touch-Clean® spray holes allow any mineral residue to simply be wiped away for an instantly refreshed look – with no need for soaking or the aid of chemical cleaners. Perfect Temp All the Time
We wanted a consistent temperature in the shower. With this shower head we were able to determine exactly where the lever for the hot / cold mix should be set, 107 is perfect. (the mix valve controlling the water plays a major part) When taking a shower, it is so simple, turn on the water and wait for the red light and 107 to display. There are no surprises, no getting under the water too soon, no scalding, no adjusting. The shower spray direction is very easy to control as well.

The Delta Temp2O 6 Setting Shower Head has a very cool feature that takes the guess-work out of shower water temperature. An LED digital temperature display lets you know the exact temperature of the water. What’s even better is that the various temperature ranges are also color-coded.
So, as soon as you turn on the shower, you’ll most likely see the display in blue with a temperature reading.
As soon as you start turning it up a notch, you’ll see the temperature rise digit by digit. You’ll also see the display change to a magenta color. This is usually the zone we’re in when my kids are in the shower. For us, this water is in the 80-90 degree range.
If you really want to turn up the heat…literally…you’ll see the display turn to red.
This water is extremely warm (over 100 degrees) and is probably not what you want to have for your child or for yourself for that matter. The great thing about this is if you or your child accidentally turns the temperature knob too much, the red display immediately lets you know the water is at one of its highest temperatures without anyone getting hurt by touching the water.

Saves water, neat digital temperature meter
Replaced my old shower head that had way too much pressure. This fixture worked perfectly. It doesn't have too much pressure so it feels better and also covers more area. The temperature guage is awesome because I can't read it from the other end of my roman tub when letting the water warm up. The colors make it to where I can tell if it's warming up or not and the guage seems spot on. I would recommend to a friend or family member. Doesn't feel super heavy but it looks nice, and was easy to install. If you're looking for a convenient shower head, easy to install with multiple settings and sprays, then this is a great shower head.

The Display is Fantastic
My grandchildren love this shower head. They no longer need grandma or grandpa to check the water temperature before they get in. They just check the display and get in when it reaches the appropriate temperature. I am going to buy the hand shower next so they can use it in the bath tub. What a great concept. Thank you Delta!

Requires Batteries ?
Does this unit require batteries or not? The website states batteries are required, but the spec sheet states batteries are not required.
Does the unit display a numerical temperature as water heats/cools or does the temp dial changed from red to blue as the water heats and cools?
The pictures on the website show that the sensor dial has numbers in it.
Very misleading photo if the dial just displays colors and not numbers in the temp dial.

The batteries are not required, and not needed for this unit, 52646-PK. There is a H2O sensor in the head that will tell the display the temperature.
The display will change colors and show the temperature both on the shower head display.

Our shower head is not giving us good water pressure flow. Only had for 4 months. Could the head be somehow clogged and if so, how do we clean it?

This model does also have Touch-Clean spray holes which make it easy to wipe away build-up and we recommend a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to clean any calcium deposits. Model 52646-PK is a WaterSense labeled product designed to produce 1.75 gpm @ 80 psi. If you are not getting this flow rate, please contact us directly for further assistance.

can this be used as a replacement head for a hand held shower?
Thank you for your question, Jude! This Delta shower head is designed to be installed on a shower arm however it could be used in place of a hand shower if you are able to find a 1/2" female to male adapter at a local plumbing supplier. We do not make such an adapter.
