Buttons are made of plastic. Broke in under one month.
We purchased this showerhead from Ferguson for our primary bathroom, thinking it would be a worthwhile upgrade. Less than a month later, one of the spray-selection buttons stopped working.
Things happen, but what really frustrated me was the lack of support. Ferguson would not help with an exchange and simply sent me to Delta to deal with the warranty claim myself.
For the price and the retailer’s reputation, I expected a product that would last longer than a few weeks and a smoother resolution when it didn’t. Very disappointing.

Control Button got stuck
I loved having a dual head shower and hand shower but one of the 3 control buttons got stuck in the down position. I can still use the hand shower but the types of spray are now limited to the other two settings.

Water pressure
I need a high pressure from my shower, and according to some review 54424 c200 PK 2.0 GPM produces low pressure. How can I remove the sticker on the shower head to give a more pressure?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 54424-PK has a water flow of 2.5 gpm at 80psi. This is the largest flow allowed by legislation. We do not recommend removing anything from the showerhead to increase the flow. This will void your warranty.

1) does the bracket that mounts to the shower arm allow the angle to be changed (ie spraying less toward back wall of shower and more straight down?).. 2) is the bracket that mounts to shower arm to hold the handheld made of metal or plastic?

I have read other reviews regarding the handhelds with push buttons instead of dial selection. Seems like the buttons get stuck frequently. Is that still the case or has that issue been corrected by Delta? Does 54424 model have a plastic or metal hose?
Thank you for your question, Karen! Although there is no known issue with the function of the buttons on a Delta hand shower, hard water or debris can prevent the button from working correctly. Usually a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water poured directly into the wand will help break up this mineral buildup and all Delta hand showers will be covered under the Lifetime Limited Warranty against any possible manufacture defects. Model 54424-SS-PK includes a 60" to 82" stretchable metal hose.

Can I replace the existing hose with a longer one? If not can you recommend a similar model with a longer hose?

If you wish to purchase a longer hose for this model you may, as the size of the conical nuts and the connection on our hand shower wands are the same.
We do manufacture a 69"-92" Hand Shower Hose, Model U495D-69-PK.
At this time, we do not offer a hand shower model which includes this hose and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hi Travel, Thank you for your question. The RP64239 mount on the model 57530 slide bar will hold the hand shower from your model 54424-PK. The conical nut from the hand shower hose rests in the holder.

Is this metal or plastic?

Hi, I am looking at the 54424-PK hand shower. My wife is handicapped, and I want at least a 72" hose without her trying to stretch it and hurting herself. Do you have a hose that will work with this model? Even if I have to purchase this separately.

Is there a shutoff on the shower head?

Are there any models of Delta that are 2.0 GPM or larger besides the Classic? In your catalog the ones listed go from Addison to Zura. Are any of the modern styles 2.0? it would be helpful to have access to this info on a spread sheet from Delta.

We bought a hand shower that looks a lot like your 54424-PK. It has a lifetime limited warranty (written on the box). What does that mean?

All parts and finishes of the Delta® faucet are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material & workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns their home. Delta will replace, free of charge, during the warranty period, any part or finish that proves defective in material and/or workmanship under normal installation, use & service. This warranty is extensive in that it covers replacement of defective parts and even finish, but these are the only two things that are covered. Labor charges and damage incurred during installation, repair and replacement, as well as any other kind of loss or damages are not covered. Any damage as a result of misuse, abuse, or neglect will void the warranty, If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us directly.

How do I fix the buttons that are stuck? It is only 3 years old

I would like to have you soak the hand shower in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water, this should break up and debris that could be causing the buttons to be stuck.
