Rated 1 out of 5 by from The upgrade was not an upgrade! I am so disappointed. I bought kitchen fixtures and these bath fixtures in champagne bronze. I couldn't be more unhappy. The champagne bronze color spots terribly and doesn't ever look clean. Besides that the faucet flow is weak, but manages to spray little drops of water all over my stomach while I'm standing there using it. Seriously, would not recommend at all!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Champagne Bronze shows every spot of water I have serious buyer's remorse and wish I'd done more research first. After completing my first ever remodeling project and spending serious money on these faucets at a plumbing supply company, I am VERY disappointed that they need CONSTANT upkeep or they appear dirty and smudgy. If you don't meticulously dry them with a towel after each use, every tiny drop of water dries to a spot on the faucets. I trust that they are well-made, durable pieces, but I almost don't want them to last because of all the maintenance they require. I attached a photo AFTER wiping, and I don't have hard water..

Q&A

How do I install a flow restrictor rp-51737 1.2 on a 553LF-SS faucet?

Asked by: Cindi
Hello Cindi, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 553LF-SS VERO® Single Handle Bathroom Faucet. I apologize for any difficulty finding this information. We are happy to help! To access the flow restrictor, first, turn off the water supply and remove the button cover under the handle. Loosen the handle set screw and remove the handle. Remove the cap and unscrew the bonnet nut. Then, the cartridge can be removed to access the flow restrictor, o-ring, and brass insert. A small tool like an o-ring pick may be needed to remove the flow restrictor. See the faucet manual for more information: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/86513%20Rev%20E.pdf Please reach out at customerservice@deltafaucet.com or 1-800-345-DELTA if you have any questions or need additional assistance. We moved into a house that has these but in the round design - the top looks the same but the bottom is round instead of square.  One of them has very low water flow.  Both faucets have green corrosion where the water exits.  What can we do?

Asked by: Paul
Hello Valued Customer, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible this issue can be resolved by cleaning the product. We recommend you try soaking the product in a 50/50 solution of water and white distilled vinegar. This could break up any possible calcium buildup inside. If the faucet exhibits very low flow: SHUT OFF WATER SUPPLIES. Remove the handle, trim cap, bonnet nut, and valve. Remove the adapter using long nose pliers. Remove the flow regulator using an O-ring pick or similar tool. Clean any debris from inside surface of flow regulator. When reinstalling parts, ensure bonnet nut is tightened securely with wrench. Failure to securely tighten bonnet nut with wrench could result in water damage. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

Suddenly my faucet has very low water pressure. Plumber says it's a problem of the faucet. Suggestions?

Asked by: tonya
Hi tonya, Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! The issue is likely caused by common water debris trapped in the faucet. We recommend cleaning the flow regulator located behind the handle cartridge. I have the Vero in my bathroom and I am looking for a tool to remove the aerator. Where can I purchase a tool for this or do you have them available? Thanks,

Asked by: Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 553LF-SS. The stream straightener at the end of the spout is not designed to be easily removed. If needed, a replacement stream straightener is available as part number RP76571. We recommend using needle nose pliers to work it out of the spout. Recommended maintenance is to soak the area with 50/50 white vinegar and water if needed for mineral deposits. Clean the flow restrictor behind the handle cartridge if there is an issue with the faucet's flow rate. Please reach out with any additional questions! Cold water runs strong however hot water runs very restricted not a strong flow. No kinks in lines and no apparent blockage in lines. Is there an adjustment? Suggestions? Delta Vero 553LF-SS 4 years old

Asked by: Steve
Hello Steve, We apologize for any issue with your Delta Faucet 553LF-SS. We are happy to help. The issue is likely debris in the supply line or faucet. We recommend removing the supply lines and flushing with water into a bucket. Then, remove the faucet cartridge and flow restrictor to flush water through the faucet valve. Use a bucket to redirect the water that will shoot from the valve. If the issue remains, replace the cartridge RP50265. Please reach out directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best regards, Bryan

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE SPLASHING WITH THIS FAUCET.  IT NEEDS AN AERATOR.  IS THERE AN AERATOR FOR A SIMILAR FAUCET THAT COULD BE USED ON THIS ONE.  CUTTING THE FLOW RATE IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION.

Asked by: OKIEPOKE
Hello OKIEPOKE, Thank you for your question! I will be happy to assist! Model 553LF has a stream straightener and does not have an option for another aerator. This model has flow restrictors inside of the valve, however, that would be changing the flow rate. Please contact us back if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Kyra

I have the Vero faucet in champagne bronze. It really shows water marks and wiping it with a soft cloth does nothing. Can you tell me the best way to clean it regularly so they look nice? I know alcohol works but that seems too abrasive for everyday

Asked by: Annalee
Hi Annalee, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to a build-up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean, soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward. I have also included a link to our “How to clean your faucet” on our website, please see the link below. https://www.deltafaucet.com/design-innovation/inspiredliving/how-to-clean-a-faucet Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. How hard is the black to clean?

Asked by: Debbie
Hello Debbie, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Faucet Single Handle Bathroom Faucet, model 553LF-RB! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to the build-up of mineral deposits, and we recommend blotting the faucet dry after use to prevent this from happening. However, water spots and fingerprints can be easily cleaned by wiping the finish with a damp cloth. If additional cleaning is needed, we recommend using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. RB is our Venetian Bronze finish. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer! Water flow from my vero faucet has been low flow since install. Wondered if plumber was lazy and didn't clear the lines before install. How do I remove the stream straightener and clean it? And what else could I check? My wife's sink flows very well

Asked by: diyer
Hi diyer, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Vero® Single Handle Bathroom Faucet In Chrome MODEL#: 553LF. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. We do recommend flushing the valve; It will allow the removal of debris in the lines. Here are the steps for flushing your faucet. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need Phillip's screwdriver and start by popping the cap off of the handle. Then you would remove your handle with the screwdriver. Please pull the handle off of the cartridge, you will then find the cap and bonnet nut. Both the cap and bonnet nut would be unthreaded from the faucet. The next part you should see is the cartridge, please grab and pull it out. Then, using needle-nose pillars, grab the brass insert and pull it out. Under the insert is the flow restrictor and this is where the blockage would be located, once cleaned follow the directions in reverse for reinstall. Lastly, place the towel behind the back of the handle, then put the bucket over the top of the towel covering the opening in the valve. Have someone turn the cold/hot water supply on for about 30 seconds to a minute. After this, shut the water off and follow the directions above in reverse for the reinstallation of the flow restrictor, cartridge, and handle. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
