Rated 4 out of 5 by from Level up your shower When I first switched to the Delta Dryden Premium Single-Setting Slide Bar Hand Shower in Matte Black, I instantly felt like my bathroom had leveled up. The matte black finish is so sleek and modern, and it gives the whole space that polished, designer look without me having to do a full remodel. The slide bar has been surprisingly practical too. I love that I can move the showerhead up or down depending on what I’m doing, whether I’m rinsing out conditioner, cleaning the tub, or just wanting the spray at a different height. In terms of performance, it’s simple but effective. There’s only one spray setting, so if you’re someone who loves switching between massage, mist, and jet sprays, you might find it a little limiting. Personally, I don’t mind, because the single spray is strong, consistent, and gives me really nice coverage. It feels refreshing but not harsh, and the hose makes it easy to maneuver when I need more control, like when I’m washing my hair thoroughly or even rinsing down the shower walls. Installation wasn’t a headache at all, and once it was up, I could tell right away that it’s a well-made piece. The build feels sturdy, and the hand shower itself is lightweight enough that it doesn’t feel awkward to use. The price is definitely on the higher side compared to standard hand showers, but for me, it feels like an investment in both style and function. What I really love is the combination of the sleek look and the reliable water pressure. What I miss a little is the variety of spray options, but overall it hasn’t been a dealbreaker. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars because it looks amazing, works beautifully, and adds that modern touch I was hoping for.

Does this showerhead 57051-RB install as a Y connection to the main shower head or is it a separate wall mount?

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 57051-RB can be installed two different ways. We have a shower arm diverter that is installed in between the shower arm and showerhead. It is Delta Faucet model # 50650-RB. The other way to install this model is to get an in wall diverter. Delta Faucet model # R11000 is a diverter rough in. Then depending on what style shower you have, there is a matching trim for a 3 port diverter.

I would like to put a regular shower head, T14251-S&S, on one end of the shower and slide bar with hand shower on the other end.

I prefer separate controls for each in case I only want water from one device at at time. On occasion I would like to use both devices so two people can shower at the same time. What do I need beyond T14251 and 57051 to accomplish this?

Thank you for your question. To join Delta Faucet model # T14251-SS and 57051-SS, you will need a diverter. We recommned the R11000 diverter valve with the T11851-SS diverter trim. This will allow you to run the shower only, the hand shower only, or the two together. If you want separate controls for each one, then you will need two valves and T14051-SS to operate the handshower. We suggest using the R10000-UNBX rough-in valve.

Is the showered metal or plastic?

This hand shower is composed of a mixture of metallic and non-metallic materials. We primarily manufacture our products with a mixture of metallic and non-metallic materials for safety and longevity of the model. Fully metallic products tend to rust overtime and often hold heat which causes burns easily.  Also, non-metallic shower heads and hand held wands will hurt a lot less if dropped on your body while showering and will be a lot more light weight when holding the wand for an extended period of time. I am interested in the Dryden bathroom collection in the spotshield finish, however the handheld shower does not come in spotshield like the rest of the collection. Why??!! Which finish best matches spotshield? Stainless? Polished Nickel?

I am looking to install both 57051-SS (hand held shower and bar) and T17251-SS (shower head and control valve). I believe I also need a R1000-UNBX or R11000 valve as well as a U4929-PK 3-way to install on shower rod. Is there anything else needed?

Hello Karla, Thank you for your question. The Delta Dryden Slide Bar Hand Shower 57051-SS can be installed two different ways. We have a shower arm diverter that is installed in between the shower arm and shower head. The models are U4929-SS-PK or 50650-SS. The other way to install this model is to get an in wall Diverter Rough-In Valve R11000 and matching Dryden Diverter Trim T11851-SS. You would also need the Wall Elbow 50570-SS for the hand shower hose connection. This will allow you to run the shower only, the hand shower only, or the two together. Best regards, Tanya

How does the diverter work

Please let me know if the shower head can be adjusted left/right. Meaning, can I rotate the head horizontally, left/right? The bar will be installed 20"' off center on the left side. I would like to know if I can adjust the head toward the right.

hand held shower rubber piece is leaking on the sides, so water is diverted from the opening flow spouts to the side of the rubber piece, reducing flow. can this be replaced? it is Dryden, but looks like older model installed 2012.

Is there any way to tighten the rotational friction on the slide mechanism that holds the handheld shower? We find that the slide mechanism can only hold the handheld in a pretty upright position and will rotate down letting the handheld fall if not.

Yes you can tighten the rotational holder for the shower head. If you remove the shower head from the holder. On the inside of the holder is a rubber tab. Remove the tab and you will find a Phillips head screw. Simply tighten the screw to your desired tension. Then replace the rubber tab and the shower head. Hope this is helpful

Is the shower head on this hand shower system replaceable with another Delta shower head?  The pressure is very low on this model. We just did a full bathroom remodel, and this shower head on our hand shower is very disappointing.
