Is it possible to increase the flow rate to 2.5 gpm like the older versions of this shower head were? I just replaced an older unit and I not happy about the flow rate.

Thank you for your question. There is not a way to increase the flow rate for the Delta 59344-B18-PK Hand Shower Unit. However, our Delta 59344-B-PK is the same model but with a 2.50 gpm @ 80 psi. Here is a link to this model:

Does the wall connection piece include a vacuum breaker?

The hand shower mount for the Delta 59344-B18-PK does not include a vacuum breaker. But, the hand shower has dual check valves to prevent backflow.
