This shower steamer is AMAZING! I love turning it on before taking a shower and the bathroom getting so warm and relaxing. It wasn’t too difficult to install either. I would say check this out if you want to make your bathroom more relaxing!!

Amazing but a little work to install
Luckily we are in the process of remodeling our bathroom, otherwise it would have been a lot more work to install. He have an older house, so this was a great way to upgrade our bathroom and make it feel like a spa. I love the essential oil reserve, after a stressful day it is an amazing way to unwind. We have hard water, so I am curious to see how it holds up over time.

Venting requirements? Install vent INSIDE the Steam Shower or OUTSIDE? Any special requirements for either method of venting?

The vent must be installed outside the steam shower. Using a vent in the steam shower will cause the steam to escape the room and the room will never fully heat up.

What is the maximum distance the steam generator can be located from the shower? Does it have to be a straight connection or can the piping from the steam generator to shower run down through floor structure and up into the wall cavity?
Hi SAVPE,
THe steam unit can be installed up to 50 feet away. You cannot run the steam line in a way that will cause a trap or valley. You can run the pipe up the wall across the ceiling and back down the wall. Once you run the steam line down it cannot be ran back up.

I’m going to install this unit. But before I order I need to know what insulation to use on the outlet where it passes into the steam room. I’m using the Wedi system and there max temperature is 165 for their vapour 85 board.
If you are looking to insulate the actual steam pipe line, use fiberglass wrap type insulation, the type which slips over a 3/4" pipe.

This unit has a built-in timer that is factory-set to 30 minutes. The timer can be changed to 60 minutes. Please call technical support (201-933-0700) for help in changing the timer limit.

For residential application, on regular City Water supply there is no need to flush it, it is maintenance free.

Can I have two steam heads on a 15kw system?
There is only one steam pipe, but sure you may split it into multiple outlets. Only concern is that steam will exit from the closest exit, so if the steam pipe is not split equally, majority of steam will exit from the shortest pipe outlet.

On the 5P-EST10 can the heating element be replaced without replacing the tank too?

The Simple Steam 10KW has a sealed tank and element assembly and does not have a removable heating element. To replace the heating elements on this unit would require the whole tank assembly to be replaced.

What’s the power draw on 12kw unit? Do I need 30 or 50 amp circuit?
It draws 50amps on 240Volts and requires a 60amp, double pole breaker.

If there is 240Volts entering the steam generator, a Green light should be lit on the circuit board.

can tis unit replace a Steam mist SM 46/79 unit? It looks the same. Will the wire plug and wire from the old one work on this one? I had an E 6 error and cleaned the connections. room temp and high steam come on controller but no cycle of water or ste
It depends on the model you have, what setting its on and the breaker size.
If you have an SM-46 and its set to 6kw, then the 5EST06 is proper. If the SM-46 is set to 4.5kw, then you would need the 5P-EST04.
If you have an SM-79, set on 7.5kw, then you would use the 5P-EST07. If its set to 9kw and you have a 50amp breaker, then use the 5P-EST10.
The control cables are all the same between the old and new models.
