Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing but a little work to install Luckily we are in the process of remodeling our bathroom, otherwise it would have been a lot more work to install. He have an older house, so this was a great way to upgrade our bathroom and make it feel like a spa. I love the essential oil reserve, after a stressful day it is an amazing way to unwind. We have hard water, so I am curious to see how it holds up over time.

Q&A

I see mention of an aroma well on the steamhead but there's no instructions on how that should be used - how much to put in? what to put in it? how often?

Asked by: lemonlymon
You may add a few drops of Aroma Oil into the well and as it heats up, the oil will evaporate into the steam room.

Where is a good place to vent the relief valve line?

Asked by: JJJJ
We recommend to route it to indirect waste. Some people run it to a slop/washer sink, others outdoors. Some run it on a separate pipe into the steam room and locate the outlet in a corner of the room, away from user space.

Thinking about purchasing the Delta 5P-EST10-BL steam generator package. Wanted to know 1) how long does it take for the steam to fill up in the shower 2) how quiet is the generator 3) is the "auto drain" option the same as "auto flush" that I'm seeing

Asked by: Lisa
Hi Lisa, The unit will take about 5 minutes before you start to get steam into the steam room. We state that you should raise the room temp by 25 degrees within the first 15 minutes. We do not have a decible noise level. THe auto drain and auto flush are the same feature.

Our unit will be installed in an unfinished basement close to a floor drain, does it need a drain pan? Also can it be mounted on a shelf and strapped to keep it from moving or a potential fall?

Asked by: JRT5932
We do not require a Pan. Yes, it may be mounted on a shelf, back of the cabinet has punchouts to allow one to secure it to the wall.

Venting requirements? Install vent INSIDE the Steam Shower or OUTSIDE? Any special requirements for either method of venting?

Asked by: Guy G
Hello Valued Customer, The vent must be installed outside the steam shower. Using a vent in the steam shower will cause the steam to escape the room and the room will never fully heat up.

Can my Delta 5P-EST15-PR generator (240V/L1L2) be connected to the Paraguayan grid (380V LL and 220V/LN) 50Hz? What transformer or technical solution do you recommend for this voltage and frequency incompatibility?

This product will work on 220Volts, however the output will be reduced from 15kw down. Delta offers 220Volt specific products, please take a look at the Delta SteamScape product line, models: 5GE-SMP15-220-1 (steam generator) and 5CH-250T-PR (user control with steam head).

how do I start the unit

Asked by: BB 76
Turn the water and power on to the steam generator. Then inside of the steam room press the Start/Power button on the user control. It should light up and display the ambient room temperature. You may press the up/down arrows to adjust the set point (Ex: 105F) then wait a few minutes for water to boil and steam should enter the steam room.

I’m going to install this unit. But before I order I need to know what insulation to use on the outlet where it passes into the steam room. I’m using the Wedi system and there max temperature is 165 for their vapour 85 board.

Asked by: Brad
If you are looking to insulate the actual steam pipe line, use fiberglass wrap type insulation, the type which slips over a 3/4" pipe.

Can I have two steam heads on a 15kw system?

Asked by: Steam me
There is only one steam pipe, but sure you may split it into multiple outlets. Only concern is that steam will exit from the closest exit, so if the steam pipe is not split equally, majority of steam will exit from the shortest pipe outlet.

can tis unit replace a Steam mist SM 46/79 unit? It looks the same. Will the wire plug and wire from the old one work on this one? I had an E 6 error and cleaned the connections. room temp and high steam come on controller but no cycle of water or ste

Asked by: Mike
It depends on the model you have, what setting its on and the breaker size. If you have an SM-46 and its set to 6kw, then the 5EST06 is proper. If the SM-46 is set to 4.5kw, then you would need the 5P-EST04. If you have an SM-79, set on 7.5kw, then you would use the 5P-EST07. If its set to 9kw and you have a 50amp breaker, then use the 5P-EST10. The control cables are all the same between the old and new models.
