Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trickle Flow Rate We purchased 3 of these faucets as part of a remodeling project. As we tested each faucet after installation, we were surprised and disappointed in the feeble flow rate at two of the three faucets. Investigating further, we subsequently discovered these faucets are part of Delta's "Watersense" series that by design has a reduced flow rate to save water. As you can see from the photo, one of the faucets barely produced a trickle. Delta's specified flow rate for this faucet is 4.5L at 60 psi, so I decided to test each faucet. Our water pressure was slightly lower at 50 psi, and the resulting flow rates varied with results of 1.4L/min, 3.0L/min, and 4.0L/min. Obviously, two of the faucets were well below the advertised flow rate. With some effort, I was able to take the faucet apart and remove a plastic flow restrictor inside the faucet body. All of the parts were reasonably easy to remove except the flow restrictor required the use of what was essentially a dental hook to pull it out of the faucet body. After removing the flow restrictor on each faucet, the flow rate was significantly better, measuring approximately 7L on one faucet. For reference, that flow rate produced a nice uniform flow like you would expect from most faucets without any splashing. I can't recommend this product "as manufactured" unless you are willing to take a chance on a minuscule flow rate, or are willing to take the faucet apart to remove the flow restrictor to yield what I consider to be a normal flow rate. The faucet that originally had the least flow at 1.4L/min would have been difficult to live with and we would have wound up purchasing a replacement if we were unable to remove the flow restrictor. Admittedly, we should have done more research to recognize the faucet was designed with a water saving feature. We simply picked it out from many at a plumbing supply store because we liked the appearance and indeed it is a very nice looking faucet. Thankfully, being able to improve the flow rate to what we consider a "normal" flow rate means we get to keep these faucets without having to replace them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So modern Ok I am absolutely in love with this faucet. It has such a modern look and was the perfect addition to my bathroom remodel. Rated 5 out of 5 by from elegant Love the look although quite a bit bigger than expected. Also love the color. To keep it spot free after each use, you will have to wipe it down. I installed this faucet immediately upon receiving. It really is a high quality additional m to our bathroom. The style is perfect with the Luxier CS-003 vanity sink I also purchased for this upgrade, the action of the handle is heavy and the flow is well aerated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to install I selected this Delta model because of its stylish good looks. I was installing into a single hole replacement (upgrade) vanity bath. I installed it before I dropped it into the vanity, so all I had were the hookups once in place. It was so easy, and the lengths on water lines were more than adequate. I would highly recommend this Delta unit the upgrade the look of any bath ( mine was a small half bath.). Five stars for this one!

Q&A

Re: Pivotal faucet: Is the chrome finish as durable as the other finishes?

Asked by: rhozee
Hello rhozee, Thank you for your question. Usually, all of our Delta finishes are safe and durable if you follow the manufacturer’s cleaning care instructions. Here is our cleaning care instructions. Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes. Avoid bleach-based cleaners. Best regards, Tanya

I am comparing the 599 model with the 699 model faucet. What model do you recommend for installation with an undermount sink? Will the mid-rise model tend to have more over splash in this application?

Asked by: Kaybob
Thank you for your question, Kaybob. We recommend installing the faucet so that the water falls onto the drain. While this should minimize any splashing, having a lower spout may also help. Best regards, Jon

Can the Pivotal mid-height sink faucet be used with the MTI Petra 4 semi-recessed sink that is about 2.5" above the counter?

Asked by: Trin
Hello Trin, Thank you for your question. The Delta Pivotal Lavatory 699-DST faucet has a height of 7" (178 mm). This faucet can be used with any sink installation style of your choice. However, you would need to make sure there is proper spacing for the handle rotation and for the back splash. Is the 2” minimum clearance needed for the 699 faucet measured from the middle of the faucet base? I wouldn’t have the clearance if measured from the back edge of the base.

Asked by: Eddie
Hi, Eddie! Thank you for your question. The Delta 699-DST minimum 2" (51 mm) Clearance to Back Splash starts at the middle of the faucet body to the back splash. Best Regards, Rosanna
