Is it possible to shorten this towel bar? It is an inch too long for the space I have.

Can this be installed in a wet environment (i.e. shower)?

what size are the set screws, and hex wrench i need to reinstall this towel bar?

In the photo it appears that there are white disks on the ends of the towel bar. Are the ends all metal or dips there a porcelain or plastic white disk? Thank you.
