Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad cartridge issue Had a licensed plumber install the shower faucet and it leaks at the cartridge
Date published: 2022-07-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage. Bought several of these to install in homes I was working on. Ended up having leaks in two homes within a few months: the cartridges had either worn out or were already faulty. A third home had the faucet leaking within a year. Try finding replacement parts from Delta... and waiting several weeks without a working tub faucet. Incredibly, incredibly cheap components on the inside. Nice to look at... but not a brand for the long haul.

Q&A

I have faucet MODEL#: B114920. The handle does not rotate all the way to the left so I cannot get hot water. But I cannot figure out how to remove the handle to make the adjustment. There are no screws or threads.

Asked by: Jane
Hello, I apologize for the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to help you. The handle has a set screw which can be removed with a 3/32" Allen wrench. Please see the following links for a parts diagram and How-To video on allowing for more hot water into the mix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3ty-H1V01I https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/DPD-B-B112920%20Rev%20A.pdf Please reach out with further questions! Where can I buy the screw for the handle? Home Depot does not sell them separately Model # B114920

Asked by: Melanie
Hello Melanie, Thank you for your question! We will be happy to help you today! The Delta model B114920 has two set screws for the handle. RP79243 is the smaller of the two and uses a 3/32 inch allen wrench to either tighten to or loosen from the handle. RP74148 is the part number for the Lever Handle with Set Screw, unfortunately, the set screw cannot be ordered separately. I am happy to provide the size of the screw which is #10-24. Either of these screws can be purchased at local hardware stores. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Emma

I have a delta tub faucet model b114920 about 2 to 3 years old , hot water come out slow. Last year hot water was adjusted on faucet. please help to increase the water flow

Asked by: Jay 7264
Hello Jay 7264, Thank you for contacting us! I am happy to help you. The B114920 needs to be flushed, The low flow is caused by debris or blockage. I have included the flushing instructions below. 1) Remove the handle by loosening the set screw on the side of the base of the handle. The set screw is either an 1/8" or 3/32" allen screw. So you will need to use the appropriate size allen wrench to loosen it. Loosen it just enough to be able to easily pull the handle off. * Note. If there is calcium build-up at the base of the handle it may be necessary to soak it in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Simply saturate the rag with the 50/50 solution, wrap it around the handle base and place a plastic bag over it. I would recommend do this the night before removing the handle. 2) After removing the handle, remove the trim sleeve. 3) Then you will need to remove the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is the threaded ring at the valve opening. It unscrews counterclockwise. You will need a pipe wrench or a pair of channel locks. 4) After removing the bonnet nut, you will need to pull the cartridge straight out. You may need a small skinny bladed screwdriver to wedge in between the lip of the cartridge and the valve to help start it out. 5) Once the cartridge is removed, you will have an open valve body. 6) Next, shut the shower door or curtain and turn the water on to the valve. Water should gush out much like an open fire hydrant. Have someone observe if there is good water pressure coming out of the valve and let flush for 30 seconds. 7) Re-install the cartridge and re-assemble in reverse of how it was disassembled. The Tub/Shower should then have a good flow. If it does not, the cartridge will need to be replaced. Please contact us back if you have any questions or need further assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Best Regards, Nicole
