Rated 1 out of 5 by from Practical, not durable. Cracked after 2.5 years of use in a household of two people and not is a major risk for flooding my first floor ceiling. I've been using Delta for decades now and never had any problems. So it was a no brainer to get their full alcove shower to replace an old bathtub. My mistake. I'm in year 2 of using this and there's an open crack near the shower wall. One part too many, as you can imagine the work involved in removing the base of a 3 part system. Stay away.

I accidentally scratched the surface, is there a touch up paint that will match the color and sheen of the base?

Hi OV2017, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet Classic 500 shower base. A light scratch on the acrylic surface might be removed easily enough with toothpaste or an acrylic polishing compound on a soft cloth. For deeper scratches, a series of progressively finer sandpaper (1200, 1500, then 2200) may be gently employed to "wet sand" the scratch, and then restore the shine with an acrylic polish. We have a Delta Classic 500 shower pan, 32x32. I would like to install a reversible, full frame glass door BUT the shower pan threshold is not flat. It has a curved edge. Can you recommend a solution to this issue?

When this shower pan is paired with the Classic 500 wall set B12205-6032-WH, or if the finished wall opening width is between 50-1/8 in. minimum to 58-1/2 in. maximum, the sliding shower door SD6765055 can be used. How is the tile backer board to be installed with the flange? The specs say this base can be completed with tile walls.

What type of mortar do I need to use to make a mortar bed to level up the floor under my shower base?
