Can this shower base be used with tiled walls?  Does the shower base require a shower pan?

Does this base need a mortar base? We had one installed recently and the base creaks something awful when stepping in anywhere within a foot of the drain. It seems like it needs support underneath like a mortar base or some under material.

We will be happy to assist you in resolving this issue as quickly as possible. No. The shower base is designed to rest directly on the subfloor. Only if the floor is unlevel would mortar or leveling compound be needed. A general "sand mix" mortar type will be sufficient.
