Q&A

What does trim and rough valve mean?

Asked by: Mel
Hi Mel, Thank you for your question. The trim refers to all of the external parts of the faucet. This would include the showerhead, tub spout, escutcheon plate, and handle. The rough refers to the rough in valve that is plumbed behind the wall. Both the rough and the trim together create a complete faucet. Thanks, Dave

A question and a comment

Hello, Replacing two tub/shower trims in my home. Installation wasn't to bad except for one I feel since I paid for a valve I should be able to exchange it for the RP19804 that mine requires. Instead I have to buy that one and have no idea on what to do with the one that came with the unit. For now I'm using the existing valves. But that's just a comment, now for my question. Is removing this adaptor on my copper pipe the only way to get my tub spout on? You would think delta off/delta on would be simple. My new spout won't fit on this connection. I've tried to get the adapter off but no luck. No set screw, won't unscrew, I'm assuming it's soldered on. Seems Delta would have something that would screw into the front of the new spout that would take the existing connection. (Like the spout that came off did) Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm waiting for this reply before taking a torch and trying to get that adapter off. I'm assuming if I can get it off the new spout simply slips on and I tighten the set screw. Thank you!
Asked by: Alan
Hi Alan, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not offer a (OB) oil rubbed bronze diverter tub spout that uses the RP12307 tub spout adapter currently installed with your faucet. The new spout is a slip on spout which will slide on 1/2" copper pipe and attach with a set screw. You will need to remove the current adapter to make the new spout work. Thanks, Dave

Why does'nt more hot water flow through valve.

Purchased Windemere Monitor 14 series tub and shower trim BT14496-OB plus universal tub and shower MultiChoice rough-in R10000-UNBX. Installed following instructions but little hot water flows through valve.
Asked by: MR BEE
Hi Mr. Bee, Thank you for your question! Please try adjusting the Rotational Limit Stop to allow more hot water into the mix. Due to variations in water temperature, you may need to adjust the stop from the default setting in a new installation. Below is a link to our How-To Video for adjusting the stop. https://www.deltafaucet.com/cms/render/live/en/sites/delta/home/video-gallery/video-page.html?videoId=n2_uZ7wgV1I Best regards, Jon

Repalcing a 20 yera old Moen with the Windermere

I have a Moen positemp that I want to connect the Windermere to. I'd like to not have to replace the Moen positemp valve and only replace the parts that you actually see from the outside. I'm doing this to match my shower to the Windermere faucet that I used with a pedestal sink when I remodeled my bath and didn't see the need to replace the existing shower/tub. Do you make a unit that does?
Asked by: David
Dear David, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not make any Trim kits that will work with other faucet company valves or parts. To install the Delta Windemere Tub and Shower BT14496-OB you would need to install the Delta MultiChoice Rough-In Valve R10000-UNBX. Best regards, Tanya

I want to replace a three hole tub/shower faucet with a single hole valve and model. Need a cover plate to cover the holes - at least 8 inches and probably more. Know they used to call them smitty plates. Do you have them?

Asked by: bdub
Thank you for question, Bdub! The RP29827RB Renovation plate is 8 1/8" tall and 13" wide. The center hole is 5 1/8" in diameter and the screws are 9" apart. This should work with your Delta Windemere Tub and Shower BT14496-OB faucet installation. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP29827RB Best regards, Tanya

I want to replace (upgrade) a 20+ year old Delta RP5834 Spout that uses a Brass adapter for mounting. Does the RP5834 come in Bronze or Black finish so I can unscrew the old and screw on the new? If not can you recommend a replacement with a dark finish?

Asked by: Mike
Hi, Mike! Thank you for your question. The Delta RP5834 tub spout assembly is only available in Chrome or Stainless Steel. We recommend the RP42915RB, RP34357RB, or RP43161RB as a replacement tub spout in our Venetian Bronze finish. These all use the same RP12307 adapter assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna
