does the shower base is made with fiberglass or porcelain

My plumber suggests caulking the gaps where the panels meet in the corners from top to shower pan and the huge gaps at the very tops of the panel corners where they meet. Also around the shower pan base where are the panels rest. Is this really necessary?

We will be happy to assist you in resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Gaps larger than 1/4” may affect caulkless performance.
