My plumber said that I would need them and that this brand/type would be the ones for my chosen shower heads. They seemed to be easily installed. He liked them so I like them.

Beware - Lower Flow!
Flow rate is closer to 2.0 GPM. Valve, and faucet attachments, all contain more plastic parts than I expected.
I will buy Moen for my next bathroom. Moen has less plastic parts.

Second Fail in Less Than Four Years
My first experience with this valve was a total fail. I had the unfortunate experience of receiving a defective part. Delta was great about sending me a replacement at no cost. That one worked well for three years. Over time, less and less water comes through. If I push it all the way to cool, I get lots of water, when I mix in the hot water, it slows to a trickle. Time to contact Delta again. I'm confident that they will send me a replacement valve again (it has a lifetime warranty), but I will still need to get a plumber out here.

Looks extremely High End and Delta was the only brand that had a complete matching set for claw foot tub faucet, lavatory sink faucet and shower rain-head and handheld sprayer. It works
this unit is an ON/OFF valve and HOT/COLD mixing valve, had it for 4 months in 3 apartments no problems at all. However, you must know Delta has a scalding water STOP on these and if you want really hot water you must adjust the STOP otherwise you will get warm water instead of HOT water. This goes well with R11000 Delta, I wanted to be able to use just the wall shower or just the rain shower(overhead) or both at same time. This valve allows that to happen.

Outstanding valve, but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit was installed in a newly remodeled shower. It does a wonderful job of retaining the desired temperature by having separate mixing and shutoff controls. My, and the installer's only complaint is the instructions that came with it were vague on the correct method for assembling the internals, resulting in a couple hours of trial and error assembly and disassembly to get the correct position for consistent hot water. Once the correct assembly was discovered, it has worked wonderfully.

GOOD QUALITY VALVE

We are very pleased with the quality and performance of the valve. It operates smoothly and is much easier to use than the old diverter valve. The Service Stops are handy as well. We highly recommend this valve. In fact we will be remodeling a second bath soon and plan to use the same model valve.

Needed Cold water with pressure
After researching for a valve that would go to my existing Delta shower set up and having a certified plumber also call several times this item was order on line for installation by a plumber. Though the installation took a while it was well worth it. Now we can control the temperature of the water and have as much pressure through the shower heads as we want. With 110 degrees everyday it's nice to take a cold or cool shower.

Q&A
I bought this valve and is it possible to run to the shower and than run the tub spout to a rain head? And then on top of that is there trim kit that can run both at the same time, one at a time? Or do I have to buy a diverter valve?
Thank you for your question, Tyler. You would need an R11000 diverter valve and a 3-setting trim kit in order to divert between a shower head and rain can shower head. The R11000 valve will be connected to the top port of the R10000.

What is the difference between this model with PEX Cold Expansion R10000-MF and the PEX Crimp R10000-PX? Is the insert barb bigger in the former than the latter to accommodate the stretched PEX during installation? Thanks.
Thank you for your question, David! The difference on these models is solely in the connection for the Inlets in regards to the type being used. Both will feature universal 1/2" connections, however the R1000-PX will have slightly tapered inlets for easier installation.

i installed two of these rough in valves into my walk in shower. I teed the hots and colds together from original. I don't have a valve yet but plugged the shower head. i noticed that the valve itself is very hot to the touch with no H2O moving through

Thank you for your question. The R10000-MF is a solid brass valve body. Any type of connection around the valve body in your wall that gets hot will make the valve body hot.

What is the difference between a "box" model and the other roughin valves? Also, what is the difference between a high flow model and non high flow rough in showervalve?

Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In "box" model rough-in valves are single model units and non-box models comes as bulk/case of units. The difference between the High Flow and non high flow valves is that there (non high flow valve) a bottom port for a tub spout installation and the R10000-UNBXHF valve does not include a bottom port for a tub spout installation. The high flow valve are designed for shower only installation.

The R10000-MF has 1/2" PEX cold expansion connections and 1/2" universal outlets with male threads. The R10000-PXWS has 1/2" PEX Crimp connections and 1/2" universal outlets with male threads.

I am trying to trouble shoot my installation of Universal shower mixer. The water coming out the shower head or tube is lukewarm. Do I just adjust the shut off screws?

Thank you for your question and we are happy to help! To troubleshoot your Delta MultiChoice® Universal Tub / Shower Rough - PEX Cold Expansion MODEL#: R10000-MFwe recommend flushing the valves with all new installations. The problem you are describing is most likely the result of debris in your supply lines or faucet.
Over time, common water debris will settle in the house supply lines. Anytime the water is shut off to a portion of the home, this debris can become dislodged and will move through the pipes to be caught by a faucet. Local construction or the changing of the seasons can also cause this. Flushing the supply lines through the unit should remedy this situation.
To flush the unit, we recommend the following:
Start with the easy stuff:
Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed.
If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is.
Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow.
If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet.
Next, check the supply lines for debris:
Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines.
Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water.
Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket.
Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply.
Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the cold supply line, through the faucet cartridge and back down the hot water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the hot water line and repeat this process with the cold-water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies.

I plan to use Uponor/Wirsbo Aquapex with the R10000-MF rough in valve. I just wanted to Delta to help ensure compatibility between the Aquapex and this valve.
